The Smiths or The Cure?

I expect The Cure to win this but I just wanted to see the percentages.

Just vote based on which band you enjoy listening to more.

Both great bands, but the Cure does it for me.

Love both, but the Smiths were the greatest band of the 80's.

Most definitely!! The Smiths have sung it the best, but some of the covers are really good, too. I liked the covers by Snake River Conspiracy and Tatu the best.

Johnny Marr > Morrisey

I didnt compare Johnny Marr because I don't know who plays guitar/arranges music for the cure.

Morrisey's whining > all other whining

The Smiths are one of the few bands from the 80s I can stand.

The Cure. I haven't listened to the Smiths because I can't take Morrisey. Even the site of him annoys me.

I like both but perfer the Cure. Especially the Cure's older material before they went alternative-pop. I really liked "Jumping someone elses train", "Hanging garden" and "Killing an Arab".
