House MD

Anyone seen this?

About a Doctor who is cockey, and has all sorts of personal problems and what not.

Very entertaining to watch. I got sucked in because I left it on after watching American Idol a year or so back and havn't been able to turn it off since!

That's why I have never been able to watch "House", I just cannot see Hugh Laurie in a serious role. To me, he'll always be the idiot George.

I love House so much. I watch an unhealthy amount of TV and House is definately among the best shows on TV. Some examples of why this show is brilliant:

Cuddy (House's boss): You can't win all the time House. You're not god.

House: What is that, some sort of dare?

***

Foreman (House's black intern): Tries to write a diagnosis on the whiteboard.

House: stops Foreman. Sorry Foreman, why do you think it's called a whiteboard? I didn't make the rules.

I watched the first half dozen eps...then I realized it was the same garbage over and over again, someone gets sick...he finds a cure that helps, then it ends up making the person even worse. Then there is a whole bunch of internal garbage that goes on about him losing his job, then he comes up magically with a cure and saves someone life.

Those are some of the classic lines form this season.

Dr. Wilson: I think your leg problems are because you miss your ex wife

House hits Dr. Wilson in the leg with his cane

House: Gee, do you miss her too??

I love it!

Yes, the show is predictable, but it's all about the characters, particularly the character of House.

House isn't the kind of show you watch to find out what happens in regards to the medical side of things. It is basically all about the character development and how the respond to different situations. It is very well written. Omar Epps has always impressed me in movies and this now.

As a couple others have already said, it's more about the characters than the problem and resolution of every illness. I agree it's very redundant in that regard. However, lately the relationship between House and Wilson has reached an all-time high of hilarity and I just can't get enough of it.

I think as the show has progressed, they've realized that the key to success is to keep making it funny because the format of the medical side can only go so far. I think when it started it was supposed to just be about a cocky doctor who makes wisecracks every now and then who solves a case every episode. As it's grown, it has become more about the characters and less about the flavour of the week illness that we can't understand or pronounce.

Besides, 24 is pretty damn predictable and redundant sometimes but we still love it so!

Oh man thats where I recognize him from. Thats....hilarious.

This show is good, but the whole equation of:

unknown disease + unknown cure + almost kill patient (sometimes twice) + recovery = House

was getting a bit boring. I'm glad they started developing the characters a bit more, its made it more entertaining.

Me either. Laurie plays such a great dumbass in this series.

Yep.

I watch the show with my fiance, but I don't really like it. I just don't like the House character...and basically that character IS the show.
