It's a shame that Cloutier has pretty much settled down and matured these days. He had a short temper in the minors and when he came up with the Rangers, and that's what everybody loved. I noticed when the intensity increased, he played his best. He always played well when he seemed pissed or really into a game.

I wish there were more goalie fights.

Who did Clouts kick in the head back when? Was it someone on Tampa or was it Tim Connolley?

I don't remember.

I used to love Cloutier, that clip just pushed him into my top-5 favorite goalies. He beat the living daylights out of Salo. The fight didn't even get broken up he just figured he'd had enough. Wow.

Yea what a joke the Islanders were in the early 90's. ****ing embarassment for them to do that on Garden ice.

Why didnt the refs just call the game? There was only 2 seconds left. Everybody apparently knew it was gonna get outta hand, the Rangers were lining up twenty feet off the faceoff dot. Pretty dumb if you ask me. But this was 1990. Thankfully crap like this doesn't happen these days. I love fighting and full five-on-five brawls, but not like this. This was pure goonery.

The disgusting thing about that was that Ron Bloomberg was a born again Christian and did not fight, so he took a beating. I believe he didn't last too long after that. He was a decent defenseman.

I took a girl (now my wife) to a Rangers Islanders playoff game that that was the game.

Arbour tarnished his career with that slapshot'esq move.

And for that that do not remember this, the Rangers fans almost knocked over the ambulance that was transporting Patty to the hospital.

as much class as the Islanders showed in that spot, the Rangers fans showed even less (but I personally loved it )

I forgot how pissed Sam Rosen was about this. Wow that brings back memories...........

Mick Vukota is still a gutless puke.

I read Pld post and thought "jeez that's harsh" but than after watching the video and remembering the whole thing.

Hockey has changed....perhaps to much but it was that night and many others that caused the drastic shift. Especially in playoff games.......
