Habs Defeat Sens

Montreal beats Ottawa again. This time 3-2 to give itself 91 points with 4 games remaining. Two behind the Devils. Devils already own the season series. First tiebreaker is wins.

Anyway, Aebischer with his third straight win, stopping all 15 shots in the third and 35 saves to give the Habs a huge win. Zednik notched the winner. Garth Murray had a scrap.

Yea my girlfriend was at the game tonight, she's a Habs fan. I was wondering why she hadn't answered her phone for the past 3 hours.

I haven't decided yet who the Rangers would have a better chance against in the 1st round, and thus who I'd rather the Rangers play.

It's good for Aebischer to win at home because he needs to win the fans over. Similiar to the Weekes situation, but Aebischer's got it tougher because he's replacing an extremely familiar face and needs to gain acceptance.

It was a risk worth taking (or something like that, sorry I'm French) I remember being pissed when the trade happen, being certain that Hossa finally understood what to do to stay in the bigs. Obviously he doesn't but as much as he's disappointing, I guess now you'll just have to accept him as a defensive PK player and play him once in a while, since his best moments are always when he comes back after being sat out.....Just sit him sometimes, you'll have the best of him all the time....

But in retrospect, and if Gainey would've ask give me either one of those three, which one would have given, Murray, Ortmeyer or Hollweg since those guys play the same kind of game????

But, anyway if the Murray for Hossa was a steal, then Ward for nothing is also a steal for you so it's equal.....(I know we received Kovy for Balej but that was last year.... )

Good luck to you with your surprising team and tremendous rookies.....Each time Immonen scores, I think of the Leafs and smile.....

Speaking of Immonen, I'd rather he play in Hossa's spot provided the Rangers can fit him into the lineup. I'm surprised no one's gone to the Leafs board yet to rub his mild success in their faces.

And IMO Ward is more valuable to the team that both Hollweg or Ortemeyer because of his skating and ability to creat a tad of offense. He's gold for that on the PK at least once a game it seems. Not too much finish in him but that wasn't really expected of him.

I never really saw or heard enough about Murray to form an opinion on how he equates to Ortmeyer and Hollweg.

Why in the world did this thread randomly turn into Murray for Hossa?

Now who in their right minds can ignore a post as well written as this one?

I just love that quote. It's going to be famous now. "We just do a STEAL"

Expect more of that.

Murray is exactly what we thought he would be, a fourth line player with character.

That was never the question.

As of right now, both guys still look like fringe players to me. The deal at the time was that Murray was the safer but less talented player, Hossa was the more talented and riskier player.

Nothing has really changed.

Now a steal would be if Murray turned into a core, 15 goal, 30 point player (which is what he was projected at several years ago). But I still don't see that happening, nor do I see Hossa suddenly turned into a 30 goal player.

The question with Murray was never character, so much he got pushed out of the organization because of the team's depth, similar players and health issue.
