More on Bailey

Kyle Bailey appeared on the local "Hawkey Update" show this past Monday, and gave an update on his injury. Extent of the injury is: dislocation, break in "ankle bone", ligament that holds tibia and fibula together ruptured, and lower tibia and fibula are broken. Ruptured ligament is the big damage, and the reason for the surgery. Rehab is expected to be 2 months until weight bearing, and then see how things go. Time table is unclear exactly.

You fans in Minnesota are very lucky. This is a class individual you are getting, this is a quote of his from the show: "If you told me before the game it would take that kind of injury to win the game, I wouldn't have had it any other way"

If you go here: http://winterhawks.dslnorthwest.net/ you can download via iTunes the entire show. Its an hour long show, but most of first part is about Kyle. Probably 10-15 min into the show is when Kyle comes on the show.

Good Lord. I still cringe when I imagine this incident... It sounds just nasty.

I remember the North Stars signed an undrafted kid out of Sarnia that had suffered a very nasty broken leg that some thought would be career ending. His name was Ciccarelli.

Not to say that Bailey will be another Dino, but sometimes players that go through massive rehab end up being better than they were before they got hurt.
