GameNight Thread: SJ Sharks vs. TB Lightning - Oct. 30th, 2003

Lets see...two teams I like. I think it'll be a battle of the two Russian goaltenders and the Sharks will actually overcome Khabby with 3 goals while the Bolts only manage 2 against Nabby. Niko shows us why he was called up...scoring on one and assisting on another.

Marleau plays hard tonight, Gets a assist but is the best shark out there, Primeau gets a goal, Niko gets one as well, Count in Fahey or Davison to get there first of the year.

6-2 sharks

Well, unfortunately, I have to go against SJ tonight. We played like kids against Carolina and TB is gonna make our defensive problems the NHL2NIGHT highlight of the week.

Our poor goalies....

Anyway, we'll be lucky to score a goal against the 'Bulin Wall.

TB 5 SJ 1

An unhappy man at the moment....

I'm torn on this one, reality suggests that Tampa will spank us into next week given the way the two teams are trending, but my hope is that after the last game, and a practice long meeting yesterday the Sharks will show some productive fire... so I guess I'll side with optimism...

3-2 Sharks in Overtime
Cheechoo, Sturm and Niko with the goals...

I'll say 3-2 Lightning
SJ goals by Marleau and Niko
Tampa goals by St. Louis (2) and Modin
I think the Sharks will look good, but still wont finish their chances

The betting man again puts his money on the team playing the Sharks. Bolts win 4-2.

2-2 tie. Ekman (he of the no heart an no penalty minutes) and Stuart for SJ, and Lecavalier (go get 'em, Baron!) and Richards for TB.

Nabby hasn't won in something like 14 games, dating back to last year. Does he have trade value, still?

With the PP Tampa has, along with the dumb penalties the Sharks are committing...it could be ugly.

4-1 'Ning.

Damn you Wild GM! I was going to post 4-1 Bolts. I'll stick with it too. I'll hazard a guess that Lecavalier scores two, Stillman one, and Clymer 1. (I almost never partake in these predictions for games, but because I do like the Lightning as well...)

Nabby Trade Value: None, the goalie market is dead, the world is chalk full of good goaltending.

Primeau's goal was assisted by Rat and Nabokov. Does that make Nabby even for the day?

Why in the world is my man Lecavalier on a line with Roy and Fedotenko?! Where the hell is Modin? What about that kid Alexeev, he was talked up in prior years. I'm surprised Svitov didn't make it either.

Vinny is rad. Passes to Sharks don't work, so why not pass to his imaginary friend?

I thought Wilson wanted the Sharks to go forward as a group? If that's the case, why are there two forwards up near the red line when the puck is behind the net?
