Calm down...it's just the ballot, not the team. And you're acting like the all-star game means something.

Every year this seems to get worse.

The Western Conference has 7 (?!) more goalies on the ballot than the East.

In return I guess, the East has 8 more Centres than the West.

What the hell?

Notables missing: Hackett, Stumpel, Nash, Mara, Visnovsky, Sullivan and Czerkawski.

In the what are these guys doing here file: Joseph, Daze, Madden, Peca, Desjardins, McCabe, Poti, Dunham, Roloson or Fernandez, (one or the other please) and Nabokov.

I wouldn't pay to see any of those guys play.

VanRyn is having a great start and is playing spectacular. He should at least be considered along with Bouwmeester.

TO show that its all a farce is when Kovalchuk and the Maurice Richard winner (Hedjuk) are not on the ballot.
Joseph, Madden,Daze Peca, Desjardins, McCabe, Poti, and Dunham should not even be on the ballot.

BTW, is every goalie in the Western COnference on the ballot?

Football is the only sport to have it right. Have the game at the end of the season, not during it. That way you base a player on the entire season and not just half or it.

And yet football is the sport where people care the least about the allstar game.

The date has a lot to do with that. So does the effort from the players. Very few players give effort in that game. Combined with the no blitzing that is usually employed and you have a very boring game.

Danny Markov has 4 points and is a +4 and Andrei Markov has 5 points and is -3. Have you seen Danny Markov play this year? Why exactly does Andrei deserve to be on the ballot over Danny, because his numbers aren't better? Danny Markov has been arguably one of the best defensemen in the east and is very deserving of All-Star consideration. They most certainly put the right Markov on the ballot.

Dunham deserves to be on the ballot.
Go look at his stats.

I realize that each team has to have a certain number of players on the ballot...but how do Leetch and Lindros make the ballot and Nedved gets left off?

No, not even close.

He'll cool down.

30-35 points max from him.
