Disgusted.

This team is worse off now than in the dark ages. And we all remember the dark ages. The Tsyplakov-Perrault-Kristich years at least brought us lottery picks. This team just stinks from the head on down. A full and total rebuild is in order. Deals all teh vets and get the kids in here. Do the god damn rebuild the right way. If the Kings knew that Avery was such a clubhouse problem, ****ing deal him when you had the chance at this years deadline. Don't lose one of the only players with heart on this team for absolutely ****ing nothing. I don't even know what else to say, I just needed to vent my feelings. I know the Kings supposedly read this board, and I hope that they do, because I'm one pissed off season seat holder, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I have not even gone to the last few games becuase it seems like every game since November has been crap.

This was my last season in LA before I'm exiled to "No NHL Having" Seattle. Not even a cup run to go out with a bang with?

Disagree.

This is a terrible team right now...but with the right MANAGEMENT changes, they can get back to the team they were in the first half of this season. Key acquisitions and a new coaching system and I think they'll be all right.

Will you still be disgusted if somehow Avery's termination and the gods' own luck get the Kings into the playoffs?

You know I share your thoughts and feelings Sean, I agree 100% with you.

Last Summer I thought the Kings had a good mix of youth and veteran leadership, not to win it at all of course, but to have a decent season on which to build on for the upcoming year. Now I have the feeling we took 10 steps back.

Why would any of us be happy with the Kings (out of nothing but luck) getting into the playoffs this year???

Just so some people could have some false hope again as we watch the Red Wings knock the hell out of this team?

I would rather be in 30th place this year than to see the Kings squeek into the 8th playoff spot.

I didn't ask him if he would be happy. I asked him if he wouldn't be disgusted.

Good post Reaps, but I am in agreement with the 'management can turn this team around.'

And not to turn this into a Sean Avery thread.. But we are gonna miss him when we are down a few goals, and we have nobody to look to for some energy.

The thought of missing the playoffs is what has sparked all of this much-needed change. Why would anyone want to risk the completion of that change and a much better draft pick by making the playoffs, especially only to be spanked by the Wings in the 1st round? The Kings will be better off next season and the season after by missing the playoffs now. This was long overdue.

I'll never root for the Kings to not make the playoffs..it's been way too long since I've gotten my fix of post-season Kings hockey.

I really don't care about draft position right now...they're going to get the same type of player they've gotten in the past few years regardless of what they do in the last few games.

And I doubt getting into the post-season would change what Leiweke's putting into motion for the future of this team.

Anyway, it was just a question out of curiosity. What if Avery's departure sparked the team into the post-season (or at least partly sparked)? The Avery fans who are pissed he was cut would have to admit it was the right move.

I disagree, its not as bad as the dark ages.

If the Kings can go out and use the JR and Luc $$ and sign a good FA, stay healthy and somehow aquire a true #1 goaltender I think we'll be fine next season.

I'm hoping with Demitra and Lubo, that maybe they can get Chara to come here, that would be awesome.

The goalie thing will be more tricky. Nabakov is likely available, but would SJ trade within the division after what happened with Kipper, plus he has a pretty big contract, maybe teoo big for the Kings unless we traded him for Miller or Sopel.

I wouldn't mind trying to get Raycroft, he has been awful this season, but he is a damn good goalie who will probably go for peanuts.

One of Biron or Miller should be available, probably Biron.

Well, since we're talking rebuilding lets do it right. All great teams build from the net out. One outstanding goaltender with a backup competing hard for the top spot. A mix of 8 D men consisting of 3-4 large, mobile, strong stay at home types with 4-5 offensive minded Dmen with speed, vision, and great first pass coming out. Youth or vets does not matter. Two fast, skilled, puck possesion forward lines, a third grinding line, and a 4th nasty, banging, line. Again, youth or vets, it does not matter which.

Herby, you have been a Kings fan for quite a while. Do you actually think that those things are going to happen? I think that that is the sad reality of being a Kings fan. At the end of every season we all talk about how the next season will be so much better than the current one and how all the mistakes that were made before are a thing of the past. Yet everytime a new season starts it is all the same bull****.

Don't let yourself get sucked into all of that again. I for one will not. I will only believe this team will be competitive when I see it. Until then I predict a Pittsburgh Penguin type scenario for LA (being at the bottom of the league for 3 or 4 seasons). But that will ultimately make this franchise better. We need to stop thinking that this thing will be fixed in one offseason and take the bumps and bruises it takes to build a real champion.

If the Kings' success hinges on Sean Avery, this team is in much worse condition than I thought...

At least in the "Dark Ages" there weren't any expectations. The games were a blast because I didn't get my hopes up. I just went to have fun.
