are you actually going to have these T shirts made? if so how do we go about requesting one, and how much do you want for it?

The first one would be great with CH-shaped potato.

I know you guys like the brown because of potatoes but that color doesn't do it for me.

I think the logos are great tho.

Maybe add one with:

Potatoes?

eyes on the prize

with the back you have allready.

Yeah, you'd have it. The CH Logo would be drawn ON the potato.

A sea of brown t-shirts in the playoffs would be hilarious. I can hear the announcers now..."Koivu...SCOOOOORES...and the Potato Sack is rockin'"

Looking at it maybe the brown on #1 is a bit too dark, How about having it on the same color of #3 & #5.

Because man, I'm not one to really care about what I wear, I take what's on top of the pile or on the ground if there's no pile in the drawer anymore, but I really don't see what I could wear with something THAT brown.

I'm with you. Hopefully enough people say the same thing so we can maybe get a 2nd color.

I like the idea. IMO the CH is the only thing missing in the logo of the #1 shirt.

I don't believe we can put a CH logo on the t-shirts. Its not our registered trademark.

I choose 1. And I choose Brown

What is the legal difference between a trademark and a name (Downey)?

Would the second be considered using the CH logo...given that it's not whole and it sideways?

Yeah the legal question is good.

Really, whoever created the "Drive For 25" slogan owns that, We could own the concept of having a potato on a brown shirt.

But the CH and Downey Potatoes are not ours.

But I'm no lawyer.

The difference is that a trademark is intellectual property (as defined by the Canadian trademarks act)

Quote:
"trade-mark"
«marque de commerce»
means
(a) a mark that is used by a person for the purpose of distinguishing or so as to distinguish wares or services manufactured, sold, leased, hired or performed by him from those manufactured, sold, leased, hired or performed by others,
(b) a certification mark,
(c) a distinguishing guise, or
(d) a proposed trade-mark;
any such mark gives the owner the right to sue any other person who uses this mark in any way that diminishes its economic value. Ex.: if we make t-shirts with the CH logo on it, we won't buy t-shirts from the Canadiens. So they will be losing money.

A name is not property. You can protect your name by a personal action if you feel your name has been misused. But in this instance we're not misusing anyone's name.
