honestly, it's hard to imagine the playoffs without the Nucks.

They were Stanley Cup Contenters before the season starters that turned into Stanley Cup PRETENDERS... I am afraid that Crawford (a great coach) is going to fall on the sword because the players are never held accountable...Are you listening Bertuzzi and others?

I just thought I'd mention this here:

Suddenly-Deciding-To-Show Joe has 94 assists, and 122 points. He is now tied with Jagr who looked like he was running away with it. Simply astonishing.

J. Thornton getting traded from our division to the western conference is great. The guy is making the deal for the Bruins look worse every game he plays.

Yeah but watch him disappear in the playoffs. There's regular season Joe and there's playoff Joe.

They had a great start to the season, but really just lost it after the Olympic break. Just not gritty enough. Too many drop passes, not enough traffic in front of the opponents net, no sense of urgency in their play whatsover. Defensively, horrible, lost too many board battles in their own zone, didn't make the simple play enough and turned the puck over.

They were not fun to watch, no fun at all. It was like watching the Habs during the last few days of the Julien era, no heart, no passion, no intensity, lousy starts...

Wow, it's a shock though.

Alain Vingeault may get a shot at the head coaching job. That would be great, I always liked him when he coached the Habs during the injury cursed years in the 90's.

Yeah, so did I. I think he would be great for a young team like Pitts though. They need to get Therien out of there. I'm sure Crawford's gone, probably Big Burt too.

Another guy I wouldn't mind seeing back in the NHL: Dave King. He's coaching in Russia, so he would know the no-red line game in and out. He would be a nice change from Crawford.

There will be changes in Vancouver for sure. This might be a very different team next season

a) They will try to unload Bertuzzi

b) Crawford will probably be gone (He was burke's guy, not nonis)

c) Morrison's future is up in the air with Vancouver

d) With the mergence of Alex Auld, where does Dan Cloutier fit in?

e) Did Trevor Linden play his last game in the league?

A shakeup of the stale core is inevitable.

PS- Anybody who follows this team on a regular basis can clearly tell that Jovanovski is the heart and soul of the vancouver canucks. Does Jovo get the C next year? I dont know how naslund will react (if he decides to play in the NHL next year)

I have to admit to calling an all-Canadian final before the season started...... Sens vs. Nucks.

Indeed. Last night was beyond sweet.

Oilers will make the playoffs,
Habs will make the playoffs,
Canucks won't make the playoffs,
Bruins won't make the playoffs,
Leafs won't make the playoffs.

Doesn't get much better than that my friends.

A point, a point, and then you can say that about the Habs. Otherwise, pray for Carolina to catch the Lighting in a bottle. Atlanta should win both remaining games.

Atlanta needs to win their 3 remaining games. But I agree, they probably will win all 3.

Interesting ,

Anyone remember what Pednault said about Bertuzzi ? I think it was between period 2 and 3 . He said that Nonis had NO OFFERS for Bertuzzi , no call .

Lets go for big Bert this summer!!

Rivet or Souray straight up.

This new incompetent Nucks GM talked to the media before the game just like the season was over..

Burke is probably laughing a big time..

Rivet + picks/Bertuzzi

Then sign Jovo or Wade Redden

The only way it would be complete would be to knock off the arrogant Sens, beat the annoying Devils and b-slap the Lightning. Then, knock off Theo in the finals, eh?
