Mon 93 Tb 92 Atl 89

atlanta plays washington and florida, two games they could easily win

tampa plays washington, almost a given

montreal plays new jersey, only the hottest team in the league right now

this is going to be a heartstopper...... GO HABS

I have this feeling Washington is going to win a high scoring game against Atlanta.

Well we had our chance to clinch and blew it. Now we gave our away our advantage when you think about it.

I mean Atlanta still has to win their games but obviously they have a much easier schedule that ours. New Jersey is a stifling team.

I don't know what to think. I'm going to church now to do my part.

The best case senario for that game is that the Devil's position is set and they start Clemenson in order to give Brodeur a much needed rest before the playoffs.

Honestly, right now I have ZERO confidence getting a point against NJ. I'm tired of missed opportunities.

All I know is that I'm praying for Atlanta to lose on monday.

It's tight, no doubt about that. And Montreal doesn't have the easy road with NJ. I'm rooting for the Habs to hang on. Good luck

Of course he will, and he will play another great game in Montreal. I hate Brodeur when he plays the Habs.

GO CAPS GO, you're the man Ovechkin!

Somebody said earlier that Ovechkin hold the keys to Habs playoffs hopes , well it's true if we lose to the Devils .

If their playoff position is set and they play their #1 goalie in a meaningless game they are taking a huge risk. I'm not saying that they won't, but leaving Brodeur in against a desperate team willing to do almost anything to get the game at least to overtime could be trouble. The Habs will be all over the Devils' crease trying to score if they are down. In my opinion it's a stupid risk to take if the game is meaningless for New Jersey.

Also if the Devils' playoff position is already set could you see them going as far as pulling the goalie in a tie to try and beat the Habs in regulation? I would doubt it, but it would make for a great finish to the game and maybe the start of a bitter rivalry.

We should send Streit barelling into Brodeur on every play.

I don't think they would deliberately run Brodeur. However, if the Habs were down by a goal late in the game there would be a lot of players right around Brodeur's crease with guys getting pushed and crosschecked and other guys possibly digging for the puck. Would you really want your number one goalie in that mess if he didn't have to be?

Not if Philly beats NJ, then they won't change anything by losing or winning agaisnt us. But not that this is going to be true cuz Gionta scores from the 49th pass of Gomez...

Crap. We really need Philly to win this game. If NJ wins, NJ could potentially be playing for home ice advantage in the first round Tuesday night. That's all we need... a team that wants just about as bad as we do...

We lose the last game, but we played wellso there's no reason why we can't win or at least get a point against N-J!

Also, playing against Washingston and Florida aren't easy. They will most likely have to earn their points and I wouldn't be surprised to see us in the playoffs before our next game...

One more thing to remember is that the Thrash are going with Dunham the rest of the regular season. Dunham could easily have a weak game.

Plus their final game is in florida and from what I recall them play them tough at home. The bottom line is that the Habs need to come out and play hard on tuesday. I thought they really played hard last night but the Sabres played a great game as well. It's going to be a very tough game on tuesday no doubt and it's sick to think we could miss the playoffs due to one less win.

Atlanta evaluation:

Dunham was poor in the opening period of the WAS and BOS games, and then made amazing stops in the third to earn the win. Ovechkin and Bergeron were contained, although they had their chances. Atlanta's D is playing the best hockey that they have all season. Thomas played so well for Boston, preventing an Atlanta blowout. Having just played WAS and BOS, Atlanta knows how to handle the scrappy forechecking/psuedo trap game that WAS is going to play.

Florida is going to be different. They'll be playing for pride at home, and Luongo has been excellent against Atlanta all year.

NJ should beat MON, and ATL will beat WAS.

It all comes down to the FLA/ATL game. It's a toss-up.
