U-18's on TSN tomorrow

I know it's hard to think about the draft at this point and time but for those that are around on monday morning, TSN will show Canada vs Finland at 10 am. They are also showing the quaterfinal game on wed at 5 pm (no other hockey is on that day anyways) and then they are showing the semifinal game at 1:30 pm on thrusday and the gold medal game on saturday at noon.

I'm not really interested in seeing Finland myself, but it would be good if a couple people watch the game in case we draft any of the Finnish guys. It would be great if someone taped the other games to look back and watch if we draft any of these guys. The only time I got to see Mikus play was from the U-18's, and personally it's always a lot of fun to go back and watch games of guys we drafted, since there's no other hockey on in the summer.

I'll be watching tomorrow, Wednesday, not Thursday, and Saturday. Well, so long as Canada or the US teams are involved. No so much interested in the other teams at this point. I guess it won't be as nice as last year when the whole slate was televised for Canada, but nevertheless thanks TSN for at least giving us this coverage! Second best tournament of the year, IMO, and the most important one of all for pre-draft scouting!!!

I'll sure watch some games.

They changed the time on tomorrows game. I thought it was at 5 pm but now it's at 10 am since Canada got the early game. I wanted to see Russia and USA play. How did the Finland game look? Anyone stick out?

The two goalies were solid and stood out above all in the game: Helenius (Finns) and Bernier (Canada). I also liked Maxwell on forward for Canada and thought Wishart is a big solid D with lots of promise.

Yeah - i saw the Finn game and have to agree - i would like Wishart in the Habs cupboard. Emmerton is the other player slated to go in the top 20 along with Bernier and Wishart, but he didn't impress me the other day at least. If we're going to grab an undersized center I want it to be Little, not Emmerton. Little is a winner that has produced at all levels and all tournaments.

Still, Wishart would seem like the most logical choice.

O'Byrne
Wishart
Emelin

All of a sudden the Habs would be relatively strong in top-end defence prospects.

I fear that Tampa drafting ahead of us puts an effective lower limit on where Wishart will go. He's like the ultimate Tampa draft prototype. Of course, one would like to imagine that with Rogers, Smaby, Egener, and Mihalik already picked, they won't need to go back that particular well, but...

I still like Shutron's Greenish game too, and I noticed him much more than Wishart against the Finns, but I wouldn't want to be the one to pick him way up at #16. Tough draft spot this year... some kind of cascading trade-down still intrigues me. For now. Plenty of time for me to flip-flop.

The Habs come on the ice on U2's when the streets have no name, no?

Wishart looked awful. He was weak and made bad decision. It may be only a bad game tought...

On the other hand Corrente was rock solid...

It says they are showing the gold medal game at noon on saturday. Finland vs USA. I really would like to see USA cause they have some impressive prospects and I could see the Habs being interested in a couple like Strait, McBain, Williams, Geoffrion, Kane, O'Brien, Flynn.

I thought maybe they would change and show Canada vs the Czech's instead of the gold, although I wanted to see the Czech team as well, wanted to see Latal and Kventon.

During the broadcast they said it would be the Bronze game at 8AM, then the Gold game at 12. I hope they're showing both. Czech and USA teams are next-best to Canada for scouting this year. Esp. USA. I'll be disappointed if we can't see 'em all.
