Eager recalled

http://www.philadelphiaflyers.com/pr...chive/2568.asp

"Esche will start the season finale on Long Island. … Ben Eager was recalled from the Phantoms on Monday. The Flyers’ AHL affiliate missed the playoffs and ended its season on Saturday."

i think eager could be a good spark for the playoffs.

while were at it what lines would you like to see heading into the playoffs?

Gagne-forsberg-knubles
Nedved-Hanzus-kapanen
eager-richards-potulny/brashear/radio
umberger-carter-dimitrakos
savage, stevenson

Hatcher-Meyer
Pitkanen-rathje
gauthier-desjardins
jones, picard,

(assuming no KJ)

I think he was recalled because the Phantoms' season is over. I wouldn't necessarily think he'll get to play unless someone other than Forsberg needs to sit because of health reasons.

I know this sounds really stupid but I would put in Brashear over Poultny or Radio. The last month he has really impresed me, skating hard and actualy making plays...If he can contain his knack for stupid penalties a line of Brash, Eager and Richards can be a real pain in the arse to play against.

I'd rather see Savage than Eager in the playoffs.

I would imagine that Forsberg will not be playing.

I doubt eager sees much ice unless someone is injured.

there is no way that savage doesn't play in the playoffs...for better or worse, any speculation on line combos MUST include him....there is no hitch will sit him

I suppose it's better to watch some of our veterans be minus 3 and minus 4. Jones wasn't scored against the last game he played. Rathje and Hatcher were a minus 3 each in that game.

Makes more sense.

How many more minutes did they play and who did they play them against? Jones is not very good at this point.

Jones - 13:48 (1:19 short handed time)

Rathje - 18:08 (3:53 short handed time)

Hatcher - 23:13 ( 2:20 short handed time)

I'm not saying that Jones is playing great right now (lack of confidence) but I think he might play as well as Rathje and Hatcher. Not being scored against has to say something in a game we lost 4 - 1. Actually Jones hasn't been scored against in the last 5 games he's played for the Flyers. No, he didn't play as much as the veterans but he still wasn't scored against when he played. He even played some penalty killing.

You can't get better unless you play. Maybe Rathje and Hatcher just need a rest, they had to play so many minutes when we had so many defensive injuries.

It may not be likely, but I'd much rather see Eager - Richards - Radio than Savage in there. I really liked the way Eager played when he was brought up and I want someone on Richards line that gives him an opportunity to contribute offensively.

Either that or:
Nedved - Handzus - Radio
Eager - Richards - Kapanen

Eager likes to crash the net (and crash bodies). Eager is an improvement than Brashear. Richards needs help BAD. We will see tonight and then how far in minutes he gets in the Playoffs

he's been playing well for a while now. plus why would they throw eager into the mix without bringing him up to play for a while before the playoffs? just doesn't make any sense... he's gotta be just a playoff extra.

While I don’t think he will play in the playoffs. Having him in the lineup would be good as he is a hard hitter and the team seemed to pick up their hitting when he was in the lineup. They played very well during that stretch he was called up.
