Should be an interesting series when you factor in the Smyth/Rullier loan deal.

The two teams split the regular season 4 & 4 with each team going 3-1 on their home ice. Goaltending will be a big key to the Monarchs success.

Is Brust going to get the nod or are they going with Hauser?

Brust impressed me in Reading last season.

Brust got the start tonight and blanks Hartford stopping all 39 shots thrown his way. Manchester wins game one, 1-0. Alexandre Daigle with the lone goal.

Marc Stall played for Hartford in Game 1.
This ought to be fun to watch.

ought to be interesting to see what happens now as LA also DECIDED to oust Kevin Gilmore as Manchester GM (the old ruse of reassignment to another position)

GO Pack

Manchester took a 2-1 series lead last night with a 6-5, 2 OT win over the Wolf*Pack.

Jeff Giuliano had the game winner as he took Marc Staal to school and was able to beat Robert Gherson between the post & stick.

Game 4 in Manchester on Sunday.

That was some game last night. We all knew that this series would turn into a real battle. The Pack will tie it up again tomorrow!

Manchester is doing a lot better than I thought. They really stumbled there way into the playoffs. I am rooting for them only because of my hatred of Hartford

Pack up 5-0 right now in Game 4. Looks like they are headed back to Hartford this Tuesday tied at 2-2. This is just what the Pack needed and hopefully will play like the rest of the series now to advance.

I give all the credit in the world to Hartford for their effort today. They came out and just took it to Manchester. Whatever momentum Manchester had after Friday's 2 OT win, went out the window early in this one. Hartford came to play & Manchester didn't. That's the bottom line.

What a game for 19 year old Brandon Dubinsky! 2G,2A in his 3rd pro game. Can't wait to see what he will do in a full year in the AHL.

Worst effort I have ever seen by the Monarchs this year. simply terrible. They did not come prepared today at all. Just about everyone decided to stay home

Hmmm, no mention of Montoya's shutout.
GO BLUE!

Game Stats

Hartord will most likely be without Chad Wiseman (LW) indefinetely as he was called up to replace Jason Ward on the Rangers.

probably because he didnt have to work very hard for it. Manchester made it very easy for him, the shots he faced were very easy practice like stops except for maybe 2 or 3

IF Hartford wins this series they are going to get destroyed by Portland. Same with Manchester.

Where did the defense go in this series? Game One was 1-0, but in the last three games there have been 32 goals.

The defense went with Montoya, Gherson is a complete joke, he couldnt stop ANYTHING tonight. Hopefully Montoya will be back but I highly doubt he will return these playoffs.

What happened to Montoya?

I saw in the boxscore that Brust let in 2 goals on 2 shots in 43 seconds and was yanked.

dislocated shoulder
out 4-6 weeks as of right now.

Jake Taylor is done as well. broken collarbone. For the Monarchs Lauri Tukonen has been shut down with a nagging shoulder injury.

I guess you can stick a fork in the Wolfpack then if they are forced to go with an ECHL goalie.
