"Wouldn't it be cool if this game was for the division??!?!"
I'm pretty happy with it being meaningless, regardless. It's meaningless-good, rather than meaningless-bad of years past
In a way, Mason could go a long way toward proving himself to the pundits if he wins this game...though, on the other hand, people will still say, "Weeeeelll...the Wings didn't play all of their guys, and the game didn't mean anything, sooo..."
I still want to win this... I think even though its meaningless, it could be a confidence booster. Thing is, the wings have been so good against us in own own barn, its frustrating.. we only have 8 losses at home and they have 3 of them! Yes and even if we kill them 10-0 everyone would say oh they rested so and so and it means nothing. And it doesn't matter that the Sharks lost to LA 4-0, we still have no chance whatsoever blah blah blah hehe
Kind of an odd game. Both teams will likely be resting people since the game doesn't mean anything. It will be a good test for Mason to play against some better competition, but then again he probably won't have the full team in front of him either.
The Preds don't need to get a win, but rather just play hard and consistant so we take something into the playoffs. Hopefully there are not injuries on either side.
According to today's pre-game skate notes from the Predators...
Brendan Witt will not play tonight and Chris Mason will start in goal (although he "might" not finish in goal). Zidlicky skated again today and Sullivan did not. Trotz said that tonight's lineup will not resemble our playoff lineup and that some players with nagging injuries will be given the night off.
