Official 7th or 8th place thread...

After 2 Periods Ottawa leads the Rangers 2-1
After 2 Periods Bufallo leads Carolina 2-0
After 2 Periods Washington leads Tampa Bay 3-1
Montreal leads 2-0 with 6 minutes to go in the second period

As it stands if the scores do not change it would mean Montreal would finish 7th and play Carolina...

Edit: Make that 3-0 lead for Montreal with 5 minutes to go...

Now 3-1 Ottawa and 3-0 Buffalo. It's looking like Carolina on Saturday night.

Yeah I was hoping Ottawa too and Friday night is better than Saturday. I have an exam on Wednesday night from 6:30 to 9:30 so Saturday, Monday and Wednesday would not be good

Looks like I may just have to write my exam quickly and run home for the end of the game.

I wonder if the Canes are throwing the game to play Montreal? naaaah....

New Jersey's first goal never should have been...should have been a delay of game penalty...somewhat related i hope someone talks to the refs before the playoffs...they have been letting a lot go through lately

I think its pretty safe to say that Ottawa is going to win their game...which means Ottawa finishes 1st unless Carolina wins...4-0 with less than a minute to go in their game defintely game over there as well...

I think we can safely say Ottawa finishes 1st and Carolina 2nd...
unless montreal loses in regulation time (unlikely) i'd have to say we're 7th and playing Carolina...

Looking more and more like Carolina...i'd say 90% chance right now

that one scares me...
man would it be sweet to have revenge for a few years ago when Carolina took Montreal out

i'm sure your happy with that...a sens fan at work figured Tampa would be best case scenario because they don't have a goaltender...Hasek would in theory be back for the 2nd round and i figured if we are going to get far we have to eventually go through the sens...better the 1st round than in the 2nd when in theory Hasek should be back....

if montreal gets past the 1st round...never know i guess carolina hasn't played that well lately...and montreal is pretty much officially the team with the best record since the olympic games in the east

Happy for a reason you didn't hit upon. The Habs are my second favourite team. I cheered them through the '60's, '70's and '80's.
