Going to OT, im going out now so i cant even watch the OT...waste of 6 bucks!

Seems like the Pack was only rolling 2 lines in the 3rd BTW, Moore had like 1 shift, Dubi one or 2 shifts. Dawes line and the career AHLer line were the 2 lines.

wow. thats just a wee bit over 10% capacity for games 1 and 2.

shouldn't be too hard resolving a seating issue with another spectator. heck, you could bring your date to hockey game and tell her you bought all the seats of a section just so the two of you could be alone

According the link site that has the game trax it seems like the Pack are dominating OT with 7 shots to Manchesters one.

couldn't agree more...falardeau was awesome tonight. all over the place, strong on the puck, won faceoffs. i'm actually in shock at how good he looked. i can't believe this is the same guy that 2 years ago looked like he couldn't play for charlotte

this is why its so laughable when you hear people in hartford say they actually think the nhl would come back to hartford. if you don't support the team there why would the nhl think anything would be different this time around?? and i realize that the ahl isn't the nhl but more people show up for a d-III college game...

and to make it even more pathetic these games came only a few days after a big rally to gain support for the campaign to bring nhl hockey back to hartford and you can't even show up for a playoff game??

if those people want hockey back then these 2 games should have been packed houses, 15,000 people and send a giant message to the nhl that this is what you'd get every night if the nhl returned...

after seeing the attendance tonight i wouldn't put hartford in the top 50 cities to put a team if i was the nhl.

Falardeau has been pretty maligned, but he continues to improve his game. His skating is many times better than it was a year or so ago. Because he can now stay with the play, he is adding a physical dimension which results in him being a much tough guy to play against.

Not saying that he's ever going to be a 1st, 2nd or even 3rd line player, but he is my dark horse candidate to make the Rangers in a year or so.

I've seen him once this year and I noticed two things - he played very physical and he was very good on the forecheck.

Maybe Lee is just a late bloomer and Sather and the scouts really did see a lot of potential to his game?

Agreed, but I'm beginning to think Hugh will have a VERY tough time making the 'Pack squad next year. If he were faced with having to spend a year in Charlotte, I don't know what impact that would have on his career.

It's too bad really. Hugh only had like 70ish games at Dartmouth before turning pro. That is a huge imbalance when compared with say Nigel Dawes who had like 260+ games with Kootenay. Still Hugh has things you can't teach, and I'm hoping he'll eventually pull it all together. He's still very young, and even if he did not reach the NHL till 25/26, I think he could still contribute.

He was good in college. The guy will play in the NHL someday and be an effective 4th line center..

falardeau will never be more than a checking player, but then again that's pretty much what he was drafted to be...he kind of looks to me like he can be a bigger, better Ortmeyer at this point. Maybe he finds a little offense along the way as well...but yes he's definatly been looking good out there these days.

anyways, I watched the game and here is a quick summary I wrote up for another board:

Montoya looked good...in fact he looked Lundqvist like a lot of times
He maybe could have had that second goal though, I think he might have gotten a little distracted by the two Pack defensemen in front of him and was a little deep in net. It was a good shot, but still saveable. Overall he did a great job though

Staal looked very strong IMO and got better as the game went along. Very steady on D, good along the boards and very good at moving the puck. Started to flex a little offensive muscle at the end too, jumping into the play a few times and shooting from the point on the PP. If he continues improving like this, he's gonna be real good

Dubinsky wasn't played a whole lot, but looked alright. He's a good skater who was working hard, but you could tell he was struggling some because of the change in overall skill level. Some of the moves he tried didn't work, etc etc. Didn't do anything bad, and did set up a few scoring chances, but look for him to get better as he gets more comfortable with the AHL.

Moore is a fast skater who works hard...didn't look like he had the greatest puck control at this level, at least so far, but the Pack struggled with that in general tonight it seemed like. Looks like he could use some getting used to the AHL level too

and yes, Falardeau looked good...he's a pretty good skater out there and is always in the mix.
