I've been to Peking and used to get takeout from Nong's quite a bit, but I like two places on Lane best -- the place in the Lane Ave. mall (name escapes me) and Tai's Asian Bistro.

It is in a fairly new strip center on the south side of the road between Fred Beakman park and the strip where Darron's and Easy Living are, which is next to 1/2 Price Books.
There also is a Starbucks, Jersey Mikes, Camile's Sidewalk Cafe all in the same strip center.

It doesn't have the charm of your standard mom-and-pop Chinese restaurants, but the food is always good.

Kallio you are my hero. My dog goes to Noah's Bark on occasion and that is a hop skip and jump from picking him up.

Signed,

That little basement bar (which actually is surprisingly large) has real character, a good atmosphere and is one of my favorite places to get food and brew.
Dude, who are you? I spend nearly every waking moment at the R&T. It's basically my second home. They say they're re-opening next to Gibby's on 3rd in the former American Furnishings, but there's no parking and the place is tiny. It won't be anywhere near the same.

That's pretty funny because I work right down the street on Kenny and my girl friend works upstairs above the Rose and Thistle. Small world no?

Craziness! You should have seen it last night...people showed up with screwdrivers and wrencehes and started basically looting the place of all of their beer signs and various memorabilia. I saw a guy walk out with a dart board. The staff didn't seem to mind.

I wouldn't go there for the drinks tonight though, unless it's BYOB. They were down to Miller Lite and Guinness as their only drafts left.

Bummer. I was hoping for one last plate of sausage rolls with a Bellhaven. Guess I'll have to wait til they re-open.

My wife and I have lived in the GV area for about four years, but didn't make it to the R&T until this past year. We'd been popping in about once or twice a month since. Thursdays or Saturdays mostly. I got a couple of friends hooked on the place too.

One guy loves it so much that when we had his bachelor party a few weeks back, he insisted that we go to the R&T for at least one drink. Actually it wasn't the best idea becasue a good portion of the guys we were with aren't really the types that would cotton to a place like the R&T and, being a bachelor party, many were in a rush to get to, shall we say, other venues....
We squeezed it in though.

Why doesn't anyone ask where everyone sits in nationwide? Assuming most of the people on here have ways of watching games in nationwide.

It's about Security, Coach.
The CBJ fans up here who wear their Red Wings jerseys when DEETroit is in town, don't want to be banned from the board (Rule 42).

I'm in 118, "the Foote Corner."
