St.Louis will pick first followed by the Pens and Hawks. Islanders pick seventh.CraigPatrick and Pat Quinn fired. Patrick drafted Leetch when our G.M.

Always thought Patrick was a pretty good talent evaluater and he knew how to hire good scouts.

Unfortunatly he's been pretty restricted the last half decade or so.

From a personal standpoint I wouldn't mind adding him in some scouting/development capacity with the Rangers.

I agree. He has done some great work for the Pens.
Friggin' Pens. They are looking at one of Johnson or Kessel. Unbelievable. Can the NHL help out another franchise a little more please? I have no doubt that if only one of the two was available, that it would be the Pens and not the Blues that would have the first overall pick.

If there was any justice the Pens would have fallen to 6th.

BTW anybody liking the thought of:

Montoya to Chicago for 3rd overall?

Patrick was maligned as Ranger G.M. However, in retrospect he did draft some good players. For the Pens, he traded for Francis which helped win a Cup. One terrible trade was the exchange of Naslund for a nobody. T.B., the Pens will be downright frightening in two years. Staal, Sauer, Tyutin, Baranka and Henke better be shutdown types or else!

At some point something has to give because I think everyone is just getting tired of this whole ordeal.

Some cities would beg for the rope Pitts. has had to climb up and make a legit offer.

Whatever city they end up in is going to get a Colorado Avalanche effect. With what they have already + money to spend that team could be REAL dangerous.

You cant drop more than 1 place in the lottery.
I think Johnson will go first, Kessel has attitude... The Pens will take Jordan Staal

Blime... Crosby, Malkin, M.A. Fleury, possibly Kessel/Staal/Toews

Theres no way Pitt takes Staal

Crosby
Malkin

Theyre not gonna draft Staal to be a 3rd line center.

Dangerous? The Pens are going to have 3 uber-prospects in Crosby, Malkin & one of Johnson or Kessel. AND they have Fleury.
If they land Kessel, they are going to have 3 of the best forward prospects on any one team since there was a young Maryo and a young Jagr skating around. Or even worse, a one-two punch that harkens back to the days when Mess was a #2 center because TGO was #1. Add to that either a #1 defenseman like Johnson or why not give Crosby a playmate like Kessel? Then come back on the 2nd line with Malin and Malone.
I really detest this franschise.

I was hoping Chicago would land the #1. They need something to cheer for.

Not worried about the Pens, about the time they start to get good, all those #1/#2/#3 overall picks are going to be wanting top dollar after their entry level deals are over. Good luck keeping even half of them.

How the hell is Pitt going to fit all these franchise players under the cap? What an outstanding problem to have.

All we can hope is that Pitt moves out west...

Blackhawks are cursed. Unbelievable.
Alll I wanted was for them to pick ahead of the Pens.

I think I hate the Pens now more than the Islanders. Is that possible?

Thing is, while still under contract they are great chips to have.

Even if you can't keep all of them, you can fill other areas.

not to mention the future draft picks and prospects they can trade any of these guys for when it becomes necessary to move them for cap purposes.

the blues should swing for the fences and take kessel... they have so little talent, they need a franchise player in the worst way... they have nothing else going for them really right now(player wise).

the pens haven't played a meaningful game in years. there's a trade off for getting great picks.

adversely, look at the devils... they never draft higher than 20 and they maintain success year after year. that's the way to do it. when the best thing you can talk about with your franchise are the awesome picks you're making, things are not all golden and wonderful.

still probably better than the hockey purgatory we were in for seven years though...

haha it does... yea your right i forgot about them. But still they arent franchise player caliber prospects... from what i've read on these boards its debatble(i think i spelled that wrong) whether kessel is a franchise player type prospect, but IMO he is and i think thats what the blues need. I say they should go for the home run.
