Wow.

Renney better call the league and make sure they postpone the game. It would be very unfair to only have half our team on the ice.

i swear hockey players are sick more often than anyone else. how many times did you have the flu in the past 5 years? let's say 1 or 2. these guys come down with the flu like 3 times a season!

how long do you think it will be before teams hire special "sterilizers" to keep the equipment and locker room sparkling to prevent things like this from spreading

probably because you have a bunch of people spending a lot of time in close proximity to one another. Just happens...

hopefully they're ready to go by saturday

I think they use the term "flu" to account for any malady other than an iinjury... they got something pretty contagious, and any time Straka, Rucinsky or Jagr get sick, you can bet the other two will catch it.

The team travels in busses together, stays in hotels together and parties together. It's to be expected. Hopefully it's a short-lived bug, or we're ****ed in all sorts of ways.

not to mention, what these guys are putting their bodies through, between all of the playing, practicing, travelling...etc its amazing that more players aren't sick.

I've always been under the impression that "flu" was code for nothing to really worry about.

Yeah I dont think this is much to worry about at all...I think we have a lot more important things to worry about than the "flu."

Not very likely they actually have the "Flu" anyway...Not at this time of the year...Probably just a head cold/bad allergies/too lazy to skate today type of thing.

ITs a genious ploy by Tom Renney to make the Devils think they are playing a hobbled team. Besides even if they do have it ive played with the "flu" before and sometimes you play even better...

it wouldn't be the first time that a coach has used that tactic, my local team was robbed of further playoff games this year when our #1 goalie suffered ligament damage, i hope the rangers really are bluffing or in the worse case that its true they get healthy in time for saturday

This could be an excuse that Renney is giving to the media to rest the star players; first Sykora was not told of the correct practice schedule now six players have the flu? Now I know it's definitely playoff time.

This is a team that absolutely needs guys like Jagr and Rucinsky. Even Rucchin. Rucinsky plays so far above his career par on Broadway, and if you look at our winningest months, it was when Rosie was healthy.
