All bets are off in the playoffs though...They will blow you out every single game except twice each series...Again, just to make it fair.

I was watching Mike and the Maddog and they played an audio clip of Renney speaking about the flu situation. He said some of the players had the same flu yesterday and were fine today and he hopes for the same results for these 6 players.

Game 1: 17-0 Rangers
Game 2: 18-1 Rangers
Game 3: 3-2 Devils
Game 4: 15-0 Rangers
Game 5: 2-1 Rangers

Just change Tom Renney to Mike Ditka and we've got ourselves a scenario!

Who gets the flu in April? It's like 75 degrees out. Must have something to do with all that sweating during practice/games and being so close to the ice. Probably not good for the immune system. Come on, Rangers take your medicine.

See, I knew taking away 2-line passing would have an affect on the game, albeit a subtle one.

upper body injuries and lower body injures become total body injuries in the playoffs :-)

OK, so you get the flu not so often. But then again, how often do you get the flu and it goes away in 2 days? Never. Flu lasts 2 weeks.

Any sport that says "someone is out with the flu" usually means a minor sickness. I've been sick a couple times this year that have lasted a day, just under the weather, but I haven't had the actual flu in years. Just hockey terminology.

Gives them 2+ days to rest up. Now they can't use the "tired" excuse on Sat.

Don Maloney was on 1050 and said that it was a stomach flu and the players are fine. He also said that Kasparitus is fine and will play Saturday. Rucchin is still questionable though.

Strangely enough, we need Rucchin...especially now in the playoffs.

Was Rucchin above 50% in winning faceoffs? I read in an article, I think it might have been a playoff preview, that the Rangers were the worst in the NHL on faceoffs. I think Betts was above 50%, but not by much.

I believe he was...but no one else was...Outside of Betts and Rucchin, we are terrible on draws. Prucha is like the 3rd best guy we have.

I doubt anybody has the flu. Probably just an opportunity to rest some players after the big drive to go for the division championship and at the same time play some mind games with the Devils.
