Key word for tonight: WORK. The habs have to go to work, which they have been doing under Gainey/Charbo. Outworking the hurricanes will be tough but thats how they'll win. Use your speed, play solid defensively and capitalise on your chances. (wow that was very Demers-esque)

Koivu will have a huge game tonight, book it.

TSN.ca IceChips:

Canadiens defenceman Mark Streit will probably watch Game 1 from the press box. Coach Bob Gainey dressed seven defencemen in the final game of the regular season, but said he would probably go back to the normal six because Francis Bouillon has recovered from a bruised ankle. Steve Begin is still recovering from a sprained knee and has yet to skate. - Montreal Gazette

BEAUTIFUL GDT habs911. I hope you make them all.

Habs will win tonight! I just have a feeling.

Like I told mjb45, I hope it goes into 6 overtimes. Kinda selfish, but i'm working untill 9'ish, and I'd like to see some hockey too.

I don't know how I forgot. Probably because you are never around.
I was also at that game. The most awful thing at the game was some indian couple that were on the big screen. The girl looked like a cheap ***** with herpes and the guy was the creepiest thing I've ever seen. Me and my friends spent the whole game laughing at them and making impressions of them.

Imagine though if they were members of hfboards though, that would be weird.

Hey Habs Fans

I'm actually really looking forward to ths game tonight and the series and will be be cheering for the Habs on the Sens off day. The Habs have always been my second favourite team after the Sens (also like the Oilers) and I really hope they can play a steady and patient road game against a strong Carolina team. It's all about Huet , I compare him to Emery alot. Had a very good regular season and he put his team on his shoulders , but of course there is a ton of pressure on him and has alot to prove , and of course if he is not up to par then I think Gainey will have no problem at all putting in Abby ....Abby did beat Dallas in 04.

Also , I am expecting that Koivu really picks up his play and leads this team as takes a huge leadership role as the captain like he seems to do every Playoffs. I have always loved Koviu and while he may not collect the PTS the same way "our" captain does he has always setting the tone for the Habs and I think he is a big key to a good start.

And of course like any road team it's important the Habs get the early lead and take the hot crowd out of the game. Carolina has a very underrated building and fans but on HNIC last night (second intermission) they were saying how loud RBC Center can get.

Anyway , gonna be hanging with some friends with some cold ones for game tonight cheering the Habs on .....got some girls too who are huge Habs fans

GO HABS GO!!

PS. All this support is of course temporary until a Sens/Habs matchup

Check this stat out, though it might have been posted before,

From TSN article "Canadiens begin postseason in Carolina":

Quote:
"Finally, the Hurricanes will be missing winger Erik Cole, who broke his neck on March 4 and hasn't been back since. His regular centre Eric Staal is a minus-14 since Cole went down, and winger Cory Stillman is a minus-13 since that date. "

Thanks for the kind words mike755.

I am not going to lie, but I was getting a little worried last night when it was 1-0 TB going into the 3rd. But the sens really came to play in the 3rd.

Good Luck the rest of the way.

Let's do all that again and this time pretend you're offended by it.

Attack, Attack, Attack!

We have to get right on them. Forcheck the hell out of them. Do not allow their defenseman to take their sweet time forming a breakout and get their transition game going. If they do that, we're done. We have to be right on them, give them no time to set anything up.

None of this "Capatilize on their mistakes" horsesh!t.

When we are playing our up-tempo, high energy game, we can play with anybody.

Test Gerber early and often.

Our defencemen's passes have to be crisp and on target. They are going to come out SKATING. So move the puck out to our forwards quickly, we should be fine.

Attack! I say.

Yah man for sure , looknig forward to an exciting game tonight and hoping the Habs are ready.

But as for the Sens , worried would be an understatement .....I was nervous and extremly concerned ....I was thinking "Here We Go Again". But it was a different Sens team this time around as they really showed alot of patience and held it together and played on hell of a third period , easily the best period of hockey I have seen from them ever in the playoffs.
It was a huge releif and even after the first goal I had a huge smile!

I'm going to Game 2 tommorow night and am so pumped up I can't wait another 30 hours.

which gdt should habs fans post in: this one(habs bias) or the one in the playoff section(which is more neutral)?
though habs fans there will probably dominate that anyways.

Lets get a someone on the Habs to give a CHELIOS elbow to a Hurricane Player, lets get a hate on. We play better when we hate the other team. Fans enjoy it too.
