Really need to win one of these 2 games in NJ...just saw on MSG Sportsdesk that Renney is switching up the lines and Prucha skated on the 4th line and Hossa on the 2nd line in practice yesterday...ugh.

Let's go boys!!

I don't understand why you decide to mess with lines now on the eve of the playoffs.

Seriously. I would just go with the lines that worked so well all year long for the most part:

Straka - Nyalnder - Jagr
Prucha - Rucchin - Skyora
Ward - Betts - Hossa
H-M-O

I think Prucha-Moore-Ortmayer is a pretty exciting line. Orts will cover defensivly and Prucha and Moore knows that. I think that line is a great weapon against NJ's small and speedy guys and wouldn't at all be suprised if they played more 5 on 5 then our "2nd line". On the Prucha with other scorers issue. If Rucchin is half injured, no doubt I think Moore is a better center for Prucha. Prucha-Moore-Sykora then? Well we already have a one way line, not sure if we can afford two. Besides Prucha scores allot of his goals out of havoc. Orts will break up a few plays per night and create that.

I also think Hollweg-Betts-Ward line is interesting. Hollweg's defense is underrated. He is pretty smart. Betts and Ward drives very hard with the puck can at times end up taking themselfs out of the play behind the NJ's net. They need a LW that can cover for them. Though more importantly, we will have Hollweg out there against NJ's top players. That will be a pain in the *** for them.

Hossa-Rucchin-Sykora - I look at this as a 4th line for us. If we pressure NJD allot they should see 2nd line ice time, if not and we are pushed back our 3rd and 4th line should be used as 2nd (Prucha-Moore) and 3rd line (Betts's).
Well your viewing things incorrectly I think that Hossa-Rucchin-Sykora line will be the 2nd line, and Hollweg's line will be going up against the Dobermans, and you can mark my words, that 4th line for NJ is gonna injure someone today and give them tons of tons of tons of momentum. Oh well, I don't exactly like the line combos.

Completely agree with you, except I'd have Orr in over Hossa. We had Orr-Betts-Ward and the rest of those lines in tact in a stretch of games where we played Buffalo, NYI, Ottawa, and then Orr got the flu and all the lines were changed up. I would go back to them

These lines suck.

Get Moore to the 4th line were he belongs.

Nevertheless, first playoff game in 9 years, pumped doesn't explain it.

Oh really?

Hossa has been playing pretty good for us lately.

So why do we put a goon who still can't skate that well or even turn in place of a guy who actually tries pretty damn hard and has played pretty solid for us?

What the hell is Orr going to do?

Match the physicality, "goonery", and energy of the Devils 4th line, and counter the Devils style of play which does not involve a non-calibor NHL player like Marcel Hossa. Why has Hossa been playing good, because he snuck a pass past Fleury and tapped a rebound in past Nittymaki? This is playoff hockey, Marcel Hossa really does not belong. I don't wanna make Orr out to be some all-star here, but he is much better suited for the style of play which is headed our way.

I'm pretty sure these lines won't last long, we'll see Prucha back on the 2nd line in no time

Are you kidding? Hossa has been playing solid, all around hockey.

Orr is suited to be on the bench. Like Langdon will be.

However, not like Janssen or Wiemer or Marshall or Rasmussen or White will be.

WHAT?

How are any of them only goons? Orr is a goon. Through and through.

Look, stop whining about Orr and enjoy the damn playoffs. Christ.

Dude I'm more pumped for this than anything, with Orr or without Orr. It's been 9 damn years man! All I'm saying is Orr is much better suited for this style of hockey than Marcel Hossa. If you don't think Cam Janssen and Jason Wiemer are goons, then something is up, because they can't skate half as well as Orr can. Neither can a bunch of other "goons" who play everyday throughout the league. Hey, Orr's not playing, so there's no reason to keep going with this, will just have to find a way to match the Devils physicality another way. The only thing that scares me more is Strudwick is not in there either, so we have absolutley nobody to defend our teammates tonight the way we are supposed to. Oh well, go get those Devils.

Cam is about equal to Hollweg.

Wiemer and Marshall are about equal to Ortmeyer.

The Devils are a bit tougher than us.

I don't see what in the world Orr would do against them. He was AWFUL in his last game and took a few really stupid penalties. We don't need that. He's simply not fast enough.

We don't have to match their physicality. We have to score more goals than they do. It's called the winning principle.
