I thought the Wings played with absolutely no sense of urgency today. Edmonton beat them to every loose puck and were skating all game. I couldn't believe that team on the ice was the one I watched all season. I can handle them losing, I just saw a lack of effort in this game that's disturbing.
GREAT game by Edmonton. They didnt make any mistakes and took advantage of 2 lazy shifts by the Wings. Williams really bothced the play on the Winchester goal. Get the puck out of the zone....pretty simple.
Datsyuk looked bad. He isnt healthy.
Yzerman was again the Wings best forward. Is that good news or bad news???
Was Shanahan a healthy scratch? Apparantly his regular season performance isnt translating once again into playoff productivitiy. He was invisible today.
Edmonton came out like gangbusters and really controlled this entire game. The refs were fine again. Both teams got a call or 2 that was weak. But the officiating was of no consequence. This is the kind of game that gives the Wings all kinds of problems, and they better adjust. Edmonton looked great today.
Oiler fans are more passionate on a per capita basis that's why there are more posts there. I expected 4-0 sweep for the Wingsm so this is a huge win for them.

Absolutely agree. Edmonton came out and played hard and the Wings never took control.
Datsyuk needs to stay home, yes, he was there, but yet he wasn't; call up Filppula, put Mowers back in, put someone out there that gives a stronger effort. The Wings just looked like they didn't care today.
BTW, my complaint is that the Red Wings board is too quiet. Where is everybody???
actually watching the game? Posters always show up afterwards.

I'd agree, to a point. The old guys seem to be showing up but the kids are just not getting the job done. I know Dats is injured with something, but he's either got to be effective or take himself off the ice; and Zetterberg hasn't gotten his line going, either. Meanwhile, the guys we've griped about all year have stepped up and Yzerman has been arguably the best player on the ice for two straight games.
Hi, Oilers fan here. How do you guys feel about the Zetterberg SH breakaway chance? It seemed like Bergeron threw his stick but I can't tell if he threw before or after Zetterberg shot it. Every time I see the replay, it looks like Bergeron threw the stick and the stick hit the puck as Zetterberg went to shoot it. But oh well, I'm not complaining. Also I watched the game on CBC and they were showing how Datsyuk was always a step behind. Datsyuk wouldn't go into the corner where there would have been a scrum for the puck. And Datysuk would always pass the puck away when a couple of Oilers would come towards him to make a hit. They were saying having Datsyuk today was a disadvantage because they felt he wouldn't pick up his game so you guys would be a mad down. Plus you guys broke a lineup that just won a game. Who became a healthy scratch? Well, heres hoping for another good game for both teams, bye.
They were losing one on one battles and had devastating give-aways. The Oil played well but I really think the Wings' haven't played their best yet.
I hate the trap.

Coming of an injury or not, I think Datsyuk wilts in the playoffs, but like Winger98 said, most of the younger guys haven't stepped up either. But it wasn't like I though either team played that well, a bad goal by Roloson, a PP goal by Z, and a couple terrible turnovers by the Wings. The Wings just shot from the perimeter most of the time, the Oil did a great job of blocking shots and trapping but I don't think it was the best effort out of either club.
