This list is so redicously biased towards Canadians it is not even funny. Kurri, Larionov, Jagr, Forsberg, Loob, Kharlamov...

hahaha. Oh lord. This TEME guy either has never seen old Hakan play or......maybe he IS Hakan!!!! We may be in the presence of a "celebrity" folks. I don't think I've ever seen him in a top 100 anywhere, yet alone a top 25.

Also, I hardly think Larionov should be considered top 25, either. Most people consider him the third best player on the KLM line (in their primes) for heaven's sakes!! Don't get me wrong, he's a very good player and good team guy but let's not go nuts here.

Kurri is probably going to be added this time. It's right about where he should be added.

Larionov isn't good enough to be in the top 30. He probably should be around the top 50.

Jagr has already been voted for.

Loob isn't even close to being in the top 50.

Kharlamov is hard to judge because he played in the Soviet Union. Most people have seen him play ten games. Even though I haven't said it, looking at this list, it's safe to say that it's only for players that played in the NHL.

I doubt most people have seen the players on this list play. At this point, players are getting voted on through second hand reports. Not to say that these reports aren't made by knowable people. But certainly not free of bias either.

Just for kicks, I'm going to go way off the board and say it's time to add Fred "Cyclone" Taylor.

LOL

What happened to Loob? He had some good numbers but only played 6 seasons in the NHL.

I dunno, I assumed we were doing this on NHL play. So guys like Larionov and Kharlamov are tough to gauge as their best play was more internationally-based. Jagr is already listed at number 11. Kurri I'd like to see in the voting, as I am a huge fan of his two-way play. Forsberg is too injury-prone in the NHL, to be honest, and isn't necessarily going to end up in the Hall in Toronto unless he gets a lot more mileage out of his body.

But how do you place Forsberg ahead of, say, Dionne when Dionne is nearly 1,000 points ahead of Forsberg? I wouldn't call that a Canadian bias, I'd call it a lot longer of a career and a lot more production out of Dionne. And FYI, I'm not Canadian. And if I was looking at a European forward who had a great NHL career, I'd look first toward Stastny and Fedorov. But that's just me.

This is a list of the "GREATEST forwards of All Time" Forsberg has nothing to do on that list. He would never crack the Top50 list there imo. (becasue of all the injuries, less games and so on)

But if this was a "BEST forwards of All Time List" he should be on that list. I would put him in Top10 list actually.

There's a big difference between GREATEST & BEST

Hart Trophies
Apps: runner-up in 1939, 1942; third place in 1940, 1941, 1943
Perreault: fifth place in 1973

All-Star Selections
Apps: First team in 1939, 1942; second team in 1938, 1941, 1943.
Perreault: second team in 1976, 1977

Art Ross
Apps: runner-up in 1937, 1938 and 1941.
Perreault: third in 1976, fourth in 1980, fifth in 1977.

Playoff Leading Scorer
Apps: first in 1942, third in 1940, fifth in 1939 and 1948.
Perreault: fourth in 1980

Apps was better offensively (especially in the playoffs) and was a perrenial Hart Trophy candidate.

Perrault's a player who has an interesting legacy. He shows up on a lot of top-50 all-time player lists, and top-25 forwards lists. Had good size, and wonderful offensive and playmaking capabilities. Three 40-goal seasons, two 100-point seasons, and would have had a couple other such seasons if not for injuries. Yet I think one of the most commonly asked questions about him, much like Frank Mahovlich (although Mahovlich was a better player), is "did we see his best?" A great career, without question, and a no-brainer for the HHOF. But for some reason, Perreault (and Mahovlich) seem to leave historians wanting just a little bit more.

What part of "this poll is closed" don't you understand? Since this last one, we've had No. 24. We've now moved on to the defencemen, too. Get with the times.

Did you vote in any of the previous polls? If not, I refer you to a creed used in elections, but very applicable in this case, too: "If you didn't vote, you have no right to complain."

Sorry, I didn't notice it was closed. And no, I didn't vote in any of the previous polls as I've been away in the NZ outback for the previous 3 months.

Regardless of the above, I have a beef with lists and polls like this...it's like great hockey players didn't exist outside NA. At least it should read 'Greatest (NA) NHL Forwards of All Time' because that's what it's about.
