I think Nitty should get a shot. But I have a feeling Hitch calls on Esche

esche starts... not like it makes a difference, esche could have stopped ONE of the 5 goals against him, there was no chance on any of the others

Esche.

Who starts in goal is moot. The team needs to show up.

seriously

i dont think ive ever seen a game where 8 goals are scored and could still say the goalie didnt play too badly

those were some nice bang-bang goals the sabres scored and esche had virtually no chance on most of them

if it was my call id give him the call in philly to see if he can recapture some of the magic he had game 1

Its a tough call.
After game 1 I couldnt just sit him.

I'd give it to him, but pull him quickly if the bad game hasnt worn off.
And a lot of the goals were due to lack of defense.

Im sure with home ice, and a chance to cool off he will be back to normal for game 3.

id call in a favor from some local street hockey players and call up the garbage can they are playin with. It doesnt make a difference though the team infront of the goalie has to play before anything is gonna change.

Esche has to start. The team doesn't dare open a goalie controversy when there is still the possibility of coming back in this series.

As was written above, Esche with the quick hook ready, and if used, it's Nitty the rest of the way.

Esche generally doesn't have two bad games in a row. As well, he's pissed off and has a lot to prove now.

I think Esche just got so frustrated with the team in front of him, hence he went off when he went to the bench and took that penalty

I'm sure it will be Esche even though I'd rather it be Niitty. Hitch said Esche was his starter and it wasn't his fault they lost tonight, pretty much everyone played bad.

Esche should have stayed in game two, that way "superman" could have given up another 16 goals on 32 shots.

That was the best thing Esche did in game two, he tried to get his team fired up. But what does our wonderful brokeback captain do? Gives him a loveable bear hug and tells him to calm down. Yeah, that's a leader for you. Maybe if his slow pylon *** would hit someone and take the lead we wouldn't need our netminded trying to stir the pot. But hell, that's asking too much when the team played like a bunch of women and let themselves be pushed around.

Esche will rebound for sure. You just dont have a game like Game 1 and then fall apart. Esche is the man and i think/hope he will be motivating his team mates to be physical etc than a more passive Nitty. I say Esche will do well and we should stay with him.

I think we need to decide who are future goelie is gonna be and stick with it. If it were me id play Nitty and let him get the expierance. Esche should be elsewhere next year.

Hitch gave Esche a rest to prevent any more humiliation.. He will start him on Wed.. Hitch will stick to his guns on Esche.. I was surprised he pulled him.. How much worst could it have gotten? lol. He chose Esche for the playoffs, that is who it will be..
