playoff seeding

I know this series is far from over and I am not trying to get ahead of ourselves, but just so that we're clear on the rules... I think there's some disagreement on what happens in the next round... I'm not exactly sure how the "reseeding" works so correct me if I'm wrong --

If BUF, TB, NJ, and we advance, we would be the second-lowest remaining seed, so we'd play BUF, the second-highest remaining seed. If OTT beats TB, nothing else matters because we will definitely play the Sens if we advance, since they are the highest seed in the conference and we would be the lowest remaining seed.

GO HABS GO

I rather see the Habs play the Sens than New Jersey or Buffalo. The two latest are so on fire right now, that would be a darn hard serie.

That for sure, he we play Buf or NJ.....i think the journey will be over...

But the Sens id say we have good chances..depend if hasek is coming back, but either way we have more chances against Sens then Nj and Buf...

GO HABS!! GO SENS!

Montreal beats Carolina
Ottawa beats Tampa
NJ beats NYR
Buff beats Phil

Best case scenario:

Montreal vs Ottawa
Buff vs NJ

Montreal beats Ottawa
NJ beats Buff

Montreal vs NJ

Montreal beats NJ in 7

Montreal vs Calgary

Montreal wins 25th Stanley Cup in 6 games.

I would rather play the Sens too... but is what I posted correct as far as the way seeds would line up for the next round?

Yup. In the second round the highest remaining seed plays the lowest reamaining seed and so on.

There is no possible way we can play NJ in the second round. We would have to wait until the third.

Nope. If BUF, NJ and TB wins: NJ vs TB and Habs vs BUF

I looked around the room and there was no sign of NJ Devils team telling me that they won't meet Montreal in the second round. Then I spoke.

She looks like... any ****ing fortuneteller who asks you to pay 5$/min on TV commercials at 2 AM to tell ya some ********.

I may have expressed myself badly... or you interpretated what I wrote on a note I didn't want to mean.

Joe Thornton is NOT a playoff performer. They will lose in the first round.

So one player will bring his whole team down?. Cheechoo has done well without Thornton coming up "big", so has Marleau. Not to mention Toskala is a better goalie than Mason at this point.

I got burned on that Toskala pick in my hockey pool. I picked Nabby and then the next guy picks Toskala. I was like who the hell is he. That is what happens when you dont do your homework.
