Faceoffs!

Do you guys happen to know if everybody practices those faceoffs. Seeing how Perez took it made me laugh a little as if he had no idea what to do. Obviously he was facing Brind'Amour I think but he still didn't have a great position. And since we have a tendancy of being too fast on those faceoffs, Plekanec had some trouble yesterday, maybe we should go a have a major clinic with every player praticing those faceoffs that could turn out critical ones in the process.

I know it's an art, but maybe we should try to implement those things to everyone instead of concentrating on the original centermen.

I don't really want Perez to spend time on faceoffs practice. I don't expect him to win against Brindy anyway.

Sorry to take your thread for this, but I didn't want to start another one for such a small matter and it's kinda about the same topic.

Was the faceoff in the Habs' zone where the Canes scored their 5th goal after an icing call?

No it was after Huet froze the puck I believe.

We needed Begin out there. We need him for game three!

Who would you keep out of your line-up...Murray or Sundstrum?

We dont need him for game 3....especialy if he's not ready. We lead 2-0 Sundstrom has 3 assists, Murray's doing ok. Especialy dont want him to come back too soon and get hurt again.

I believe the habs have had the edge in faceoofs (barely) in both games so far.

He's not nearly as good at killing penalties as Begin is, and he doesn't bring the same energy.

Do you think begin would be as effective comming back from a knee injury and only 1 practice? Especialy killing penalties where you put alot of straing on you knees breaking and moving lateraly to cover the D on the PK? I dont want a Begin who cant be Begin. The difference with the past years is...when Bégin was gone....we had no one to supply some of the energy. Now we got a few who can even if obviously they arent as effective as Bégin we arent stuck with nothing.

Yup, and all the more impressive when you consider how often Brind'Amour is on the ice...
