Souray is in, no lineup changes for the Habs.

CKAC says that everything is pointing towards Gerber starting. He had a long chat with his coach at practice and left the ice before Ward, a sign he is starting...

Patience is the key tonight. The crowd will be yelling and Carolina will be desperate and wounded. We have to wait for the mistake and stay out of the box. Patience.

Keep sticking the puck deep and crashing the net. Slow them down in the neutral zone, and collapse the net to block shots. Working like a charm.

go habs go

Wow, talk about throwing a kid into the fire. Imagine making your first playoff start in Montreal for a heavily favored team that is down 0-2 in the first round? Crazy. He played fairly well last game, but did let in a couple bad goals too. Unbelievable that they would go to him.

I agree with your point since the kid is still so young and all, but from a Canes perspective, they're not out of this series yet. They need to make some kind of change to hopefully get their team back in order. The status quo hasn't worked for them thus far, so they're making a change to try to turn things around.

Plus Gerber is sick.

They had no choice.

Gerber is obviously mentally weak, and lost his confidence.

It would be a mistake on their part to start him tonight.

Hopefully the Habs can get shots on Ward early and pressure him.

He didn't play all that great monday. He made a few key saves though. I feel that we'll go to work on him as we did with Gerber.

Well TSN has got a picture of Ward on their front page and they say he'll be playing. I guess we'll see who is right.

I can't believe that are going back with him. (Gerber)

His mind is out in left field, and if he gets shelled tonight, he and the Canes are done.

They should have gone with Ward tongiht, even just to allow Gerber to clear his head.

RDS is TSN's sister station after all, but they do indeed also say that Ward will start.

"Cam Ward sera quant à lui devant le filet des Hurricanes."

I have a feeling that Koivu would pick up his game tonight. Hopefully we will see the real energetic Koivu tonight.

Ya, I know. The pressure on Ward is going to be intense, and especially early on. If he lets in a soft one early then look out. The Habs need to jump on him right away and not let him get into any type of groove or zone.

According to CG12, they report Ward in net too on Carolina's radio.

Just soak up the atmosphere tonight. Nothing like a playoff game at the home of Lord Stanley's Cup.

Taken from TSN:

"Defenceman Sheldon Souray will suit up for the Canadiens after leaving Game 2 with an undisclosed lower-body injury, while netminder Cam Ward will start in goal for Carolina. "
