Recap of October & A look ahead at November

This post/thread is dedicated to discussing this past month (October) and the upcoming month (November) in terms of Canucks play. To recap October, here we go (note: I also left in the 'Summary of October' just to proove how much of a smartypants I am

Quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
October

9 - Calgary : Canucks 4 - Flames 1
11 - Edmonton : Canucks 3 - Oilers 0
13 - at Columbus : Columbus 3 - Canucks 2
16 - at Detroit : Detroit 3 - Canucks 2
18 - at Minnesota : Canucks 2 - Minnesota 2
20 - Buffalo : Canucks 6 - Sabres 1
22 - St.Louis : Canucks 3 - Blues 2
26 - Phoenix : Canucks 3 - Coyotes 3
28 - Columbus : Canucks 6 - Jackets 3
30 - at Los Angelas : Canucks 3 - Kings 1
31 - at Phoenix : Canucks 4 - Coyotes 1

Summary of October

I don't think we could ask for a more generous start to a hockey season than the one we've been given this coming season. Outside of a couple big games versus Detroit, St.Louis, and Minnesota, nothing here looks menacing in the least. The Canucks could be 1st overall in league standings if they come out with any sort of passion whatsoever. Could be a great chance to put some distance between us and much of the West.
And a look ahead at November

Quote:
November

3 - Detroit
5 - at Nashville
6 - at St.Louis
8 - Minnesota
11 - at Minnesota
13 - at Philidelphia
15 - at Boston
18 - Montreal
20 - Chicago
22 - Toronto
24 - at Toronto
25 - at Montreal
27 - at Ottawa
29 - at Calgary

  • : Only 3 inter-divisional games
: 7 of 14 are against Western teams, which means a lot of time out East
    : 2nd longest road-trip (24th - 29th, 4 games) of the season
: 9 of 14 in other buildings - most of any other month
: 9 of 14 made the playoffs last year

Summary of November

November features a heck of a lot of games out East, so if there's any time when we could afford to lose a few games, this is it. It'll be another not-so-tough month - though the first half is rough. Two key games against Minnesota (back to back), then two big games in terms of TV against Toronto, it should be an exciting month, albiet not the most important.
So far after October, we are 1st in the league, just as I said might happen

Sure is. I'll be wearing my vintage nucks jersey too. And yes, I bought it before they decided to use it this year...kind of annoying actually, it was cool when nobody else had it
