What lines do we use now?

I think it safe to say that saku wont be back for friday.
I'm so pissed tonight...I need to move on....so here's my question.
How do we adapt?
What lines do we use?
Use Bonk again? only problem I can see with that is I think Bonk wont be as fresh for the PK.

I think every Hab fan on this board is still pissed about the ***** referees.
I can't think clear either
This is a good subject for tomorrow morning when cooler heads will prevail.

Our matchup was so good, the Higgins-Koivu-Ryder line will be a lot less effective without Koivu that's for damn sure. We don't need any real line juggling, maybe Bonk minght be a decent short-term solution. What a ****ing joke. I'm just so ****ing pissed.

Personally I'd go with;

Bulis - Ribs - Kovy
Kost - Higgins - Ryder
Perez - Plek - Zednik
Murray - Bonk - Sunny

Don't f' with the chemistry. What I see happening though;
Higgins - Bonk - Ryder
Bulis - Ribs - Kovy
Perez - Plek - Zednik
Downey - Murray - Sunny

He's a defensively aware ball of energy who also happens to be a center. Aside from his inexperience, I see no downside to him at this point. Maybe Downey will be put in and Murray will be moved to center, but Lapierre doesn't suck at all

I could see something like this...

Higgins-Bulis-Ryder
Kost-Ribs-Kovy
3rd and 4th are the same...

I think we can't break the plek line or the Bonk line...
Bulis was kind of a tool on Ribs line but I think he could be usefull at center...

Lets hope Koivu is OK...

BTW stop whinning about the refs. It's done. I want the HABS to win the two next games and I don't care about the Refs...

GO HABS GO

Instructions for tomorrow:

You will wake up, wash your face (wash it well), go to work (or school), get bored, think nothing of last night, feel the cool breeze running through your hair (if you have any), let the sand fall through your fingers, take a walk out on the beach (provided you live in a seaside resort) or the canal (whichever dorwns the anxiety), sit home and cheer for your favourite team and your favourite captain to pull through! GO HABS GO!!

I'm pretty sure Lapierre and even Begin will get in the lineup before Kost... I just feel it.

I'm thinking/hoping Koivu will be back.

If not, I have a sneaking suspicion that Begin will be ready.

If neither of those hopes/wishes come true, then I would assume one of the following scenarios:

1) Bonk or Plekanec replace Koivu (with the other one manning the third line), and the Habs dress 7 defensemen. I think this is most likely since Souray was noticeably injured still, and had some difficulties with his mobility--which is why the Canes started coming down on his side with more frequency as the game wore on

2) Insert Plekanec or Bonk to first line role, then bring Kostitsyn in. Team needs goals, so put in the best pure goal scorer. He also has the most NHL experience among the rookies on the sidelines.

I'd be a bit surprised to see Downey in there. With his reputation, and the officials calling even more penalties in the post-season than they did regular season, and this not being a dirty or grinding series, I don't see the need for Downey. The reason Montreal may inject Downey into the lineup instead of Kostitsyn would be purely because he proved to be solid defensively and willing to go to the net with some authority on a regular basis. And because he could (further) soften up some Carolina D.

I do not expect to see Higgins playing center. He's simply too bad on the draw.

I know he's a natural center. But he's still lousy on faceoffs. And he's better along the boards and driving the net, which is a more natural talent for a winger to have.

Bulis is also lousy on draws. That's why I'd be surprised to see Bulis or Higgins play down the middle.

Also, Bulis has been pretty damn good with Ribeiro and Kovalev. I don't think we'll see that line change.

I tend to agree

You dont want to mess with the chemistry right now. So you hope to plug that big hole of koivu's with doing the minimum amount of disruption possible.

I think if Begin is not back, and koivu is out, plekanec's ice time will increase the most. But that's where the problem lies. You dont really want to double shift pleks as I like what he is doing with perez and zed. However, that means he cant play with higgins and ryder on a regular basis.

This is where the coaches earn their money. Lets see what they come up with.

I see this as the best solution

Bulis - Ribeiro - Kovalev (is now 1st line status)
Higgins - Bonk - Ryder (2nd line status)
Zednick - Plekanec - Perezhogin
Sundstrom - Begin/Lapierre - Murray (if Begin healthy go with Begin, if not Lapierre).

Yup except for Lapierre. Begin is gonna crash-comeback now that Saku's out.
You can even promote Begin to 3rd line while Bonk stays where he's done a good job so far. No sense in mixing everything up when we should have won 5 games outta 6 playing like that.
