koivu might be blinded and he wont be back, and were gonna miss our no1 center and one of our best players, so beating a canes team with momentum will be ridiculously difficult, i do not see hwo we can...these kind of games shift series, jus look back in 02

I'm trading you to the Canes board. We don't need losers.

And don't ever talk about Koivu losing an eye.

I hope Koivu will be back, everyone pray for him tonight, the last thing saku needs is a huge life altering injury like this, he has gone through enough, pray for saku, I know I have, and I will do it again.

Koivu is the kind of player that will walk off that upper body injury. He's probably laughing about it right now saying hahaha I can't believe all those fans are worried about me, it was just a little scratch! He's probably already getting into game form by eating a big bowl of pasta and doing some pushups right now as we speak. He'll be back for game 4.

I don't think they would keep him hospitalized over night if it was just a scratch and I don't think he is eating pasta, but I hope he is back, I have faith.

I disagree about momentum.

Assuming Koivu will be ok, it's the Canes that will have to suffer the early pressure from the habs next game.

There are ways to loose and/or win a game and gets or keeps the momentum.
___________

You are right, in '02 we had loose the momentum against the Canes. But you can simply gets back 1 serie and find a similar example: Habs loosing the 4th game against the bruins, serie back at 2-2. Should have been a momentum switch but the injury to Zednik keeps this from happening (as much as it pain).

There are plenty of other examples, (one way or another).

The Canes won tonight, but they are undeserving of the win. Much like the Bruins were when they had slash Kovalev in '04 (much different as it was an instant killer in the game) but... you get the point. Loosing a game does not egal automatic momentum switching. Especially when the loosing team had double the scoring chances of the winning team, getting 2 posts in the process and all. Luck won the game for the Canes tonight, they were ready to get beaten in their most important game of the year, they wont prevail the rest of the way.

Me too. The Hurricanes got outplayed. They were lucky to escape -- reffing or no reffing -- and both teams know it. They should also pat Cam Ward on the back a lot.

They're still facing a do-or-die game Friday and between the result tonight and Koivu they should be pumped.

Gainey will not have a Therrien-style blowup.

The Habs played fine after he left the game, so why would they suck the next game? He will be a loss, but if they play like they did tonight and the refs dont get in the way, Montreal can and should win. Also, I dont see Ward standing on his head like he did tonight again.
