Ribs said Stillman bit his tongue.

Ribs said Stillman bit his tongue so the 'Canes could get a 4 minutes penalty on the Komi high stick. LOL Ribs.

I've always wondered if there were players out there who would slice themselves for the extra two.

If I played, I'd grow a nice sharp nail, or find someway to always bleed after a high stick it's a b***h move, but hey, all that matters is the win

I certainly didn't think the Komi high stick could've made him bleed, but then again some guys cut easier than others.

I thought from the title that Stillman bit Ribeiro's tongue. Now that would be a story.

You don't get a penalty in you cut a guy in the face with your stick, do you?????

I think it's fine for Ribeiro to call out Stillman like this. If he did bite his tongue it shows the Habs know their little dirty games. If not, Ribeiro makes him look like a pansy for bleeding on a play like that in light of what happened to Saku. There pretty much isn't any way I can think of that this particular trash talk can come back to haunt the Habs.

I hope the Habs will be fired up for next game. They are clearly the better team on the ice at this point.

This rule is ridiculous, and I have to admit I AM CONVINCED that some players just bit the inside of their chick or their thong to allow their team to have a 4 min PP when there is 4 min left to a game.... if is so easy to get blood when using a tooth brush... Why would it be tough with a nail or two teeths?

I found the rules on the net about it:
1.1 If there is a high stick to a face: 2min
1.2 If you can see blood: 4 min
1.3 If the stick hits an eye: 0 min
1.4 If the eye falls on the ice, its at the referee interpretation.

I don't think there should be a penalty for this, as long as we're talking about consenting adults.

Sorry, I know what you mean to say, but, I couldn't resist the opportunity.

I thought the exact same thing

Is there such players that would intentionally slice themselves for the extra 2 minutes? Nah ! That would be dirty....

That's what happened, but no call was made.

The automatic 4 minute penalty for drawing blood is garbage. There is no room for interpretation by the referee. If Stillman was cut it was barely a scratch, but the referee had to call the penalty because of a stupid rule. How was it deserving of a four minute penalty? Stillman wasn't hurt on the play. He didn't even miss a shift and played on the power play. The NHL should go to a 5 minute penalty and a game misconduct for high sticks that do real damage (e.g.: a bleeding eye) and have a 2 minute penalty for all other high sticks (e.g.: a shaving cut).

Watch the Canes practicing their eye extraction methods at next practice.

Hell, I'd even take an automatic 4 or 5 minutes for highsticking, no matter if it drew any blood. Anything but this bicephal cut/uncut thing.
