Who's injury is more key to the Habs?

Pretty simple poll here. Who's injury hurts the Habs as a team and their playoff chances more? Discuss.

Koivu hurts more, but Begin is also a big loss. They are the two warrior forwards on this team.

The injury with the biggest impact on the habs chance is Erik Cole injury.

It's obviously Koivu.

I have no idea why DaHabsRule voted Begin. :\

As much as I like Begin this poll shouldn't even be close (and I see that it isn't).

I voted Begin for the simple fact that his ON ICE presence is a HUGE LOSS for us...he makes things happen every shift he is on....Saks absence will hurt us A LOT...there is no doubt about that....his leadership will greatly be missed...but I personally just think that Begin can make more things happen on ice right now!

i hope u guys dont flame me for this...lol

I think it should be rather close actually... Even though we all know Koivu as our leader and one of our best players, Begin brings so much energy to the team and IMO we need his game just as much as we need koivu's against a team like the Hurricanes.

Nope, I agreed with you. Begin hits, creates chances, creates energy, Koivu wins face-offs. I haven't noticed a whole lot from him lately...

The difference in skill set is what makes this a no-brainer for me. As I said I love Begin's game and the energy he brings, he's a valuable member of the club, but his skills and contributions are easier to replace than Koivu's

Koivu without a doute, look at are line without him, its just not the same. Not taking anything aways from Begin, but a 1st line center vs a 3rd line grinder is not the same impact!

2 players with far different role

Begin is easier to replace in his role than Koivu

Begin is much easier to replace. You dont replace a first line center who also happens to be an energy forward at the same time.

Murray is doing a much better job on the PK. In fact, I'd keep begin on the 2nd wave or not on it at all.

Missing your captian of your team probably is always more important then missing most other playres on your team.

No contest and I think the poll shows it. I love Begin and his work ethic but he ain't no Saku Koivu.

Just for fun... Are you saying that Koivu doesn't create chances or energy? And that he doesn't hit?

How about on the Higgins goal where he dove to pass the puck to Sundstrom...or the OT winner by Ryder?

i don't like the pool because they are not having the same role .

Normally i would say Koivu because he brings the fire and the energy , as Begin , but is more dangerous and a complete player . But he didn't show his common energy in the play offs games until now .The points he got were more because of the work of Higgins than his .

At that point , is the energy that Begin brings , and his ability to neutralize the opposite players is more heavy on the balance ?

I am not sure but may be it is more close than what we think.

Common ! don't put your head in the sand and face it ; Koivu wasn't himself until now and 2-3 good plays in 3 games don't mean nothing . Saku needs to create things everytime he's on the ice , not just few times each game.

Saku was probably already injured so i hope that he's going to come back at 100 % of his shape . Than i am sure that we are going to see the real Saku .

you can't negate the fact that the plays you refer to resulted in goals, he won't create something every time he's on the ice as much as we'd like him to. and yes, I thought he had problems in g's 1&2, though he found ways to contribute.

I don't believe that a 4th line energy guy,as much as I love Begin, means as much as the 3 players that are pivotal on this team, Markov,Kovy and Koivu.
