The Ribs line and the Pleks line both have more equal strength TOI than the Koivu line...
I wouldn't be surprised the see Pleks line play the most even strength.
Bonk - PK and ES
Zednik - PP and ES
Murray - PK and some ES.
Lapierre - probably play the least amount of minutes (around 8 i would guess).
Sunny - PK and some ES
Ryder - PP and ES
Higgins - PP, ES and some PK
Pleks - ES and PK
Ribs line - PP and ES
Perez - ES
Interesting call by BG. Still accessing if I like inserting Maxim over Kost.
I have no issue moving Bonk between Ryder and Higgins. First, Bonk has played well and has earned it. Second, it changes the line..not a scoring line or #1 line now. However, I expect solid 2-way play and hopefully, this line will be able to apply pressure in the Carolina end using Higgins and Ryder speed on the forecheck as well as the entire line cycling down low. I think it has potential to be effective.
I understand BG's thinking with Lapierre. Gritty player, defensive centre. Better suited, at the moment, then Kost for the playoffs. BG is thinking, if I have to insert a rookie, I want the one who won't cost us in our own end.
Bonk mught take Saku's place on his line but it won't be the 1st line anymore. The Ribeiro line will play more and will play the 1st PP.
Perhaps. But before Koivu went down Bonk was the more effective center of the two. He's done more to control the play in the offensive zone than we expected. I expect him to see a lot of ice tonight and I expect him to rise to the occasion.
