We were having a debate as to what kind of cheese, if any, goes on a traditional Cheesesteak. And what exactly goes into the sandwich besides the steak? We have several places here that all claim to have an "Original" cheesesteak but they're all different.
Has anyone noticed (at Pat's and Geno's anyway) that when you say, "whiz wit" that the money dude says to the grill guy, "one cheese wit". So now I just say "cheese wit" and I'm given whiz, not american, not provolone. By this rationale, cheese=whiz as the Philly standard.
cant stand cheese wiz. provolone cheese, lots of onions and mushrooms.
btw, there is no other place on earth to get a cheesesteak then Philly.
Places up here try and do it but it just isnt the same.
i'm from about a half hour outside of Philly and there are tons of good cheesesteak places around...i'm in school in York right now and i can't get a decent cheesesteak to save my life....have one for me guys
