I Thought We Would Win In 6

At the begging of the series i thought we would end up winning in 6 games but this is no longer possible and ever sense the Koivu injury we have been having troubles winning and Ward has been playing AMAZING. I know i am getting a bit nervous are any of you?

I think every Hab fan is, at least, a little nervous...
Just read the board, some have already given up

for sure we're nervous

we're playing without our captain and our best player (Kovalev) is injured

Giving up is always the easiest path.

Still, I had them beaten in 6 but we are giving them a much harder time than I would have imagined. I still want the Habs to win of course but it is only going to get tougher.

I didn't think our rookies would do such a good job. I think Huet also showed he can be solid during the playoffs.

I'm not nervous in the least. The way I see it , we have to win and we CAN win game 6. If they don't win it's because they will not have played as good as they can . So , as much as I hate to say it, if the Habs lose game 6 they will have lost because they really didn't deserve to win.
I don't like the way the officiating has gone in this series but even with bad calls the Habs should be playing this Game 6 the way a team plays do or die hockey ...meaning they have the talent, they have the skills....they'll have no one to blame if they lose...not even the REFS.

In short, I won't feel bad at all if they lose, I'll feel like the team just gave up . And if they gave up then why should I care ?

I am mighty frustrated, but not nervous. If they win, they win. If they lose, then I will wait till next year.

Basically, I would like to be watching hockey still, wait, I mean watching the HABS still, but Carolina is getting good (esp. Ward) and sometimes it looked like the Habs did not want it...

Still I say GO HABS GO.

And another gripe, why am I subject to watching the Carolina feed on Dish Network for the game... I hate those guys. I want CBC back on Center Ice!!!

I'm a huge Habs fan, I bleed the bleu, blanc et rouge, I will be cheering in my living room and hope for them to pull a win tomorrow night.

But my realistic side says, we're done and Brind'Amour's goal in game 3 was the turning point. The momentum just swayed completely in the Canes favour and we just can't get it back.

Hmm, I feel nervous, but I must admit that I'm less nervous as I was before we clinched our playoff spot.

I'm more confident we can beat Carolina twice in a row than red-hot Devils once in Montreal...

Go Habs Go.

I predicted the Canes in 6 originally, because I decided to make an unbiased prediction, hoping I would be wrong. It's more and more likely I won't be. It's not over till it's over, but it's not looking too good right now.

I honestly think that carolina won't get past round 2. if they have such a problem vs the habs(no koivu, hurt kovy, souray playing bad. although we have solid goaltending) i'm assuming, a peak form ottawa, or a peak form NJ or a peak form Sabres or flyers....it'll be tough for carolina to get past any of these teams. Its a shame the habs forgot how to win from games1 and 2. but its a young team still and they still have a lot to learn. ryder and ribeiro werent as bad this series as they were during the last playoffs, but this team is still lacking the kind of scorer who's not afraid to go into the crease and finish off some plays.

IF Carolina makes it to the 2nd round, they'll face the Devils and no other team.

A team that is on a 15-game winning streak.

They'll be destroyed. Period.

I'm no more angry or frustrated. Even less nervous.
For me it's over and I'm already thinking about the upcoming season and the eventual changes in the lineup.

Don't get me wrong I still want them to win but I no more believe.

As for the Canes I also think they will be eliminated in the second round.
Ward is not that great and overall the Canes have been less than impressive offensively.

I already can't wait for the FA signings period !

I certainly didn't think we had it wrapped up when it was 2-0. I've seen that picture before - Habs were up 2-0 on the Islanders one time back in the 80's thanks in large part due to the play of Carbonneau - and proceeded to lose the next four, including three at home. Same thing happened to the Habs against the Rangers in the late 90's - Damphousse started the series on fire - by the end they couldn't put a marble past Richter.

I figured entering the series that we would have a chance, but I also figured that Gerber would be the goalie for the entire series, and that he was vulnerable. Now it's more ofg a tossup, and right now i have more confidence in Ward than Huet at this moment. Hopefully Cam is ready for a crappy game or two, because IMO he's been the difference.

I am not trying to troll here, but what are the Habs' chances in the second round against Ottawa?

IMHO neither of these two teams would make it past the second round.

Altough I got really excited when we took the lead 2-0 in the series, I know realize we miss that killer instinct as well as some confidence, which naturally comes from leadership in large part.

I said this about the Sens vs Canes debate a while ago ;
''Carolina will wear us down, will skate even faster than us, will bury more scoring opportunities, will hit hard without over-hitting and taking stupid penalties and their moral will always be strong''

I was really right about their ''moral''...They want the last 3 games in a row...

I think it's obvious that in the future we will need more experience key players to mix with our young promising kids..
We should never have allowed them to dig themselves out of that hole....

Everyone's talking about Kovalev being injured.

LAME EXCUSE.

Besides, he played more minutes than any other Hab last night. How hurt can he be.
