Here are some more clips with Sodertalje and Kopitar. Oh and if you didn't know already, Kopitar wears #27.

http://svt.se/content/1/c6/56/02/94/...d-staoap02.asx

http://svt.se/content/1/c6/52/32/61/...ora-183325.asx
http://svt.se/content/1/c6/51/43/55/20060103-ssk.asx - This one has a nice goal from Kopitar.
http://svt.se/content/1/c6/48/94/42/...skfrolunda.asx - Kopitar goal at 1:45 into the video.
http://svt.se/content/1/c6/47/95/37/...1-timrassk.asx - Kopitar with 2 assists in this one.
http://svt.se/content/1/c6/47/68/68/2005-1027-ssk.asx - Lot of Kopitar and an interview with him as well.
http://svt.se/content/1/c6/47/05/28/...17-lhc-ssk.asx - Go to the 1:25 mark to see Kopitar pull a strong power move to cut from the right side boards to the middle to get past the defenseman and beat the goalie wide stick side. Also go 3:38 in to see Kopitar ring the post with a nice wrist shot from the top right circle.
http://svt.se/content/1/c6/46/70/97/...taljelulea.asx - Kopitar with a beautiful backhand pass and assist.

The most impressive thing to me about Kopitar is his patience. That's the mark of a goal scorer. Also, just about every one of the goals of his in those clips is scored differently (wrist shot, slapshot, one hand on the stick, falling down, etc.). He appears to have a full toolbox, not just one or two tricks that get recycled (like Frolov).

The guy's got some nice moves...and it looks like he'll be coming up as a Kings rookie at just the right time with all the recent personnel changes.

Is it just me or could the kid conceivably be in the lineup next year?

Great post! Thanks for the links. I also didn't realize he was so fluent w/English- will make the transition to NA game easier. I can't wait to see what this kid can do once he makes the Kings lineup!

Depending on the country, everyone is taught English in school. I'm not sure how it works in Slovenia, but he probably had to learn Enlgish to play in Sweden. I know thats how it works in Finland

Everyone in Slovenija speaks English, because it is one of the most important subjects in our schools. Kopitar s English is so good because his mother is an English teacher. Can t wait to see him play tomorrow against US

Wanted to inform you all that Kopitar will be wearing #13 for Slovenia in the 2006 World Championships in Latvia. He is listed at 6'4 216. Hard to believe he'll be turning 19 this August.

Oh and some images of Kopitar...

Kopitar wore 52 in last years camp. My guess is that he may go to #27 since the number is available and he wore that this season with Sodertalje.

When Dany Heatley was drafted, I took one look at him and posted "that kid will be an NHL stud." I get the same feeling when I look at Kopitar. It's nothing scientific, just a hunch based on maturity and size. Heatley had it as a teenager and so does Kopitar.

Let's hope his path is a little smoother than Heatley's.
