Rosario Ruggeri (sp?)

this guy is having a monster season so far, like 14 gp and 15 pts already... so why is he not on the list of players trying out for Team Canada for the world juniors?

he is having a great year so far but you might get a better answer if you post it on the prospects board. there might be posters that actually see him play and have more info on the WJC and such.

also, Alexander Picard is having a great year too and might be considered for WJC.

easy

Because agents and clubs dictate who is on the club. Agents want exposure for potential high picks and teams want there high picks to get experence playing against elite players.

A little overly paranoid. Agents don't pick the Canadian WJC team, they have scouts and coaches for that.

One reason Ruggieri might not be invited is that he only has one year of eligibility left, being born in 1984. They usually balance the camp with guys who played last year plus some kids who probably won't make the team but could use the experience for next year.

It's not impossible he'll be invited to the final camp, but they invite 45 guys and only take 20, so if he didn't make the summer camp, chances are slim.

Here's the roster:

I think you may be confusing Alexander Picard the non Flyer prospect forward with Alexander Picard the Flyer prospect defenseman.

paranoid

Not! The habs forced Ribiero and Chouinard on the team. They were God aweful at the camps and mysteriously made the club. You ask any player in junior hockey if it is a fair selection process. And they will tell you I am not paranoid.
