The Optimism Thread - Habs will win game 6 - Keep the Positive Vibes Flowing

Well, our Habs are headed back home for game 6, eh. I feel there is much unnecessary doom and gloom type attitudes amongst all of my fellow Habs fans. Why? Yes, our Habs lost two very close games at home versus the Canes after taking a 2-0 series lead. The Habs showed much character in coming back from a 2-0 deficit in game 5 eventhough they lost 2-1 in what was the best game of the playoffs. One thing's for sure; our Habs can play with the Canes and they're not going to roll over and die. No sir.

The Habs are not down in this series, folks. They are tied 2-2, not down 3-1, or 2-0 as most experts may have predicted against the number two seed in the East who dominated the Habs in the regular season.

My point to all of this is to tell all of you we lost two close games in a row to the Canes and we're still tied. Now that the Habs got those losses out of the way it's time to get back to winning. This has been a road warrior series. I say Habs beat Carolina in game 6.

That's right, folks. Our Habs will hold the Canes this time around and tie the series only to win in 7 back in Carolina.

In closing, I'd just like you to remember one thing. 'Habs lose to the Bruins in game 4 and are down 3-1 in the series after Kovalev took Sheldon Souray out of the play due to an apparent injury while leaving the ice, creating a breakaway for Glen Murray to ice the game". Remember how bad things looked then. This can't even compare. Habs are coming back. Take that to the bank my fellow Hab fans.

Time will tell. It would be a great ending if everything happens as you say.

I don't care if they win in 6 or 7 but they better not screw this thing up after winning the first 2 on the road.

Getting away from the Bell Centre should be a good thing.

We didn't have much of a game plan the last 2 matches IMO. Most didn't seem on the same page. Playing on the road will get us back to the basics.

I tend to avoid the Boards during and shortly after games.. but I couldn't today. But we've been fighting the good fight without you!

Although it hasn't been that bad... the Ribeiro thread actually is becoming constructive now that Miller Time and Mike 8 agree..

And this thread ROCKS

I Still BELIEVE!!!

Best of three series now boys lets end this. Kovalev didnt impress me last game and with the return of begin set i will be looking for kovalev to carry the team to victory. Thanks for making this thread maybe it will help kill some of the negativity on this board right now

The Canes and the universe threw all that they could muster at the Canadiens. Bad calls, bad bounces, Koivu out, Kovalev playing injured. Yet somehow the Hurricanes couldn't manage better than two close, one-goal wins.

The series tied and the Habs can absolutely win it.

By now the Habs should realize they have to win on the merits and not by feasting on Gerber's horrible goaltending.

GO HABS GO

Begin back will spread his selfless, everything for the team, sacrifice my body style to the rest of the team. We're going to see some desperation. I believe that Begin's absence was overlooked. He is a great leader on this team.

GO HABS GO

May I also commend Dandenault here. I was very hard on him early in the year and he has been simply amazing since the olympic break. Bouillon has been great all year too. These guys rule.

I felt the team was distracted and worried about Koivu's health last game, but knowing that the injury is less severe than originally thought (whether or not he can return) just knowing that will put them more at ease.
GO HABS GO

I'm trying to stay as positive as possible but this series reminds me so much of 1996

I love this thread though. I need some optimism.

If Gainey and the gang are optimistic then we should be too. They believe they can play with the Canes and beat them. They have. And a bounce here or there in their favour this series could have been a sweep for the Habs. They're winning tonight boys.

Lets go Habs! Now that my Rangers are out, I'm pullin for you guys. I'm the only one in my pool that picked Montreal over Carolina, so dont mess this up. Haha In all seriousness, I really like the team you have, and I have jumped on the Huet bandwagon during the regular season.

Looking into my Cristobal, I see Habs in 6.

I have a very good feeling about tonight. I had a bad feeling before each of the last two games and my feelings were correct. And they will be correct once again as the Habs will win.

I'm going to do pushups and situps before the game. I want to make sure I'm in shape for the game. I'll also do some jumping jacks to boost my cardiovascular capacity for the game.

Remember the Matrix?

"On n'est pas le meilleur quand on le croit... mais quand on le sait"

Same thing for the Habs

We know we're the best team in the LEEEEAAAGUE... we can beat the canes in 6 and I hope they'll do it

After the game on Friday, in the halls of the Bell Centre, I tried desperately three times to start a chant of "HABS IN SIX! HABS IN SIX!"

But alas, it was unsuccessful. I guess everyone was too angered over the loss still.
