Torres how many points this year?

Torres has 10Gp-3G-3A-6P

I really like the looks of him on the second line tonight he seems like he can gel and play with anyone just like Ryan S. I thought he was just a hard hitting grinder when he came here but he has some decent offensive tools and creates good chances off his hits and work down low.

I predict 19G-23A-42P

he is currently on pace for 49p.

It's a REAL shame that he isn't considered a rookie by the NHL, because he'd probably have a GREAT chance at the award even if he only gets in the mid 30's in points, which I'd consider a real success.

35 Pts would be my call at this point, and good for him.

MAB is considered a rookie, so we're in excellent shape as far as he is concerned.

Not if there are more games like he played in his own end tonight. He was easily the Oilers worst Dman. Smart but LUCKY goal. Still like the kid and know he'll rebound and have a better next game.

The writers wouldn't look at the game tape though. They see a goal. I was talkin stat-wise mostly

How was it a lucky goal? Looked like good anticipation and an even better backhand to me. What did I miss?

The bouncing off of the Wings leg - forget who it was. But I thought I noticed it before, and Legace talked about it. He isn't a guy who is going to say something like that happened to cover up for a goal. But like i said. Smart (or in your words, good anticipation - but the backhand went off a wing in front of the net).

BTW, that wing was Legace, just caught it on the replay. But I think the fact that he was there for the bounce was even more of my point. That's anticipation and confidence. You can't teach that kinda thing. Excellent finish as well.

Anyway, isn't this supposed to be about Torres?

Sorry if I got it off-track. The guy had the kinda game he needs to have tonight.

22G 19A for 41pts.
Likely double what Isbister will get.

Is this an old post... cause tonight vs the Bruins, Torres got another goal, his seventh.. and MAB didn't dress, he was in the press box in favour of Semenov. So how could he have been our worst defenceman. Cross was, hands down. He turned the puck over like ten times in our own end.

Obviously it won't happen, but Torres is on pace for 38 goals and 16 assists for 54 points..

I think at this point his goal should be to hit the 20 goal mark. Hitting 15 would be acceptably, and I think anything less then 14 would mean a poor last 4/5's of the season. This kid is exactly what I expected and more. Although, I must say, the more offensive he's become the less physical he's become - has anybody noticed or thought this?

Agree totally!! The goals will not always come this easy for Raffi and then if he doesn't play a physical style, he will be lost.

Yeah, he was supposed to be our 'agitator', and everyone said during the Joey Moss Cup to wait until he played against another team...then pre-season he showed a little aggressiveness, but he's showed very little of that the last few games in the reg. season. He's one of the few guys who seem to finish their checks, but otherwise...

Of course, if he keeps scoring like this (and not doing the 'agitator' thing), Lowe might want to trade for Tucker after all!!!
