If you follow that writer's logic, the Rangers should get rid of Lundqvist because he's clearly terrible, too. And Kiprusoff must have just been a one-year wonder, because the Flames lost in the first round. And screw regular season success - it doesn't mean anything. Wow, the people who picked the Vezina candidates must be pretty embarrassed now, not to mention the Team Canada people who picked Turco. I'm sure they all realize now that all three of those guys have no talent because their teams lost in the first round.
And, of course, the best yet - bring in Khabby. Chicago was TERRIBLE this year, but he won a Cup so he couldn't have been to blame in any way. Plus he makes more money so that's attractive, too. Or maybe even Osgood?!? Yeah, he's defininitely an upgrade on Turco.
Theres a difference between all of these. Turco was absolutly horrible the whole series, he looked like a fool. This is the 2nd time its happened.

They can't afford to spend the 4- 5 million it would take to sign Richards, but they can spend that amount on a netminder?

I would have to guess that the Flyers would be interested.

Maybe. But, Turco already makes over 5 million a year. So, I still don't see much of a payroll savings.
