To get the powerplay working, i think the most obvious solution would be to get the puck into the zone and then get it to Kovalev ASAP and let him figure out the rest. Defensemen get open on the point, forwards go to the net and Alex will take care of the rest. Won't work 100% of the time, but it would be better than what i saw in game 5. The canes have said their defensive plan starts with kovalev and taking away his time and space. On a powerplay, that is difficult, dont take enough away and he will shoot or make a pass to someone else, get to close and he will either burn them or move it on forcing them to get back into position. Hopefully the PP works tonight, we have a much better chance tonight if it does.
