A 4 for 1 deal isn't a good one to make from a Habs' perspective. Try less quantity and more quality.

Aebischer is not much better than Grahame. The Habs and Bolts would not be good trading partners imo. The Bolts would rather keep Richards and deal St. Louis.

I think Tampa would pass on that deal, IMO.

Aebischer, Higgins and Komisarek
for
Richards and Ranger But even that doesnt look good.

Reasonable trading partner: Anaheim.
If Bryzgalov plays wells, Giggy is out, and they have some good prospect to add with him for Richards.

I just can't see Tampa moving Richards to another Eastern team. Anaheim looks like a good target:

To ANA:
Richards
Craig
Ranger

To TBL:
Giguere
Pahlsson/McDonald
Ryan/Perry/Getzlaf

Overpayment by the ducks?

Ya, I'd say so.
How about Chistov, Giggy and pick for Richards?

better than mine i'd say from ducks pov. but i dont think tampa would do it. It would have to be a number 1 pick, or two 2nd round picks

Tough to say, but I agree on one point: Richard is NOT going to the east. IF he is dealt, it's as far away as possible, possibly to the division they won't be playing against next year.

I'm pretty sure Tampa would take Lupul,Giguere and first round pick over that one.

How about this: Aebischer to Tampa, 2nd round pick to the Habs.

Habs unload Abeschier's contract and then sign Huet. Tampa gets a #1, albiet a second-tier #1.

I might consider that, but only once Huet is signed. Aebischer is the Habs insurance policy if we can't sign Huet and gives Gainey some leverage in contract negotiations with Huet's agent.

A second is not enough for Abby. Maybe Craig + a low pick would be better

But that's not the kind of deal, that fans want him to be involve in a package deal for a all-star forward (bertuzzi, richards...

I think for a GM to trade an exceptional player for players who haven't shown themselves to be exceptional, is career suicide. Yet we keep thinking it's do-able.
