2 quote's from mike today

If he really said that, then be prepared Mike to be shipped, or be riding the bench for the season.

Ha! As if the media doesn't like him...They LOVE him. He's controversial and always gives them something to talk about. He's a media darling.

Probably misquotes from the media, once again.

He probably said; "My daddy liked Guy, back when I had a pacifier."

Any link for this? Because I neverd heard anything like that all day long on any website or radio-station or RDS.

RIBEIRO HOPES TO RETURN WITH HABS.

03 MAY 2006

http://spectorshockey.tripod.com/spe...e_rumours.html

MONTREAL GAZETTE: Pat Hickey reports Canadiens forward Mike Ribeiro, who struggled through most of this season, is hoping to re-sign with the club this summer. While Ribeiro suggests the media might have a hand in his future ("I know the media doesn't like me and they want me out of here"), Hickey suggests his future could be decided by potential off-season moves, as management wants to get bigger at center.

Spector's Note: Ribeiro's blaming the media is lame. He failed to play up to the standard he set two years ago (when he was a media darling, by the way), and his poor work ethic this season didn't endear him to Bob Gainey. "Mickey Ribs" said in the article that he wants to mature, to which Habs fans respond, "When will you start?" It ain't the local media that wants you out of Montreal, Mikey!

Ribs is the last of the "Three Amigos" coach Julien had to contend with.
He proved that he is not a top 2nd line center and so if Gainey can get one then Ribs is in the skybox of out the door.

In an article I just read on RDS, they are talking like Ribs is already gone... Hopefully they are right.

Does Bob Gainey write for RDS? Cuz if he doesn't they don't know anything more than we do.

When did Mike prove that he wasnt a second line center??? I must of missed that.
Yeah he didnt score a whole lot in the playoffs... then again, none of the team did.

That horse has been beaten to death so many times that it is hardly imaginable anyone would need to do it again. But eh... another thread about Ribeiro!

All he has to do is shut up and play hockey, and for that he will earn millions. Such a tough life that would be.

Are you blind? ...or slow maYbe? Ribeiro proved all the year long he isnt gooD enough to compete against top level competition... Its not all about goals, assists, point, +/- or any marginal meanless stats.. Its about how you play the game... Not really tough to understand... His weakness make him unable to compete at a high level and it will be even tougher for him in the future.. The new generation of kids is gonna make any NHL teams more competitive years after years...

St-Louis, Chicago and few other could be interested in cause they are in a pretty tough rebuilding mode, probably looking at the next early first round picks as well...

I dont hate the guy.. He worked hard despite his flaws and I respect him, he was possibly our best filler of the last 10 years but its now time to find a true second line center in the goal to improve our chances to win the Stanley cup.... We have many cheap and solid young players so we have the money to sign or trade for key players.

Now you see why Julien owned him in the juniors.

I have little patience for these lame excuses. Before you blame the rest of the team, I suggest you compare his totals with that of the other forwards. He was one of the worst. Even Sundstrom had more points than he did. Yes, he started the playoffs as the second line center but in four games after Koivu was injured he became the first line center by default. The team counted on him more than ever before but he failed them. He didn't even match his totals in the 2004 playoffs, when he didn't have Kovalev as a linemate.
