I think the 1st line could be interesting, were not scoring goals as is, its nice to see a change. Kilger playing on the 3rd line is higher then i expected for his 1st game back, and wow would it ne awsome to see koivu play again, we need him.

Kilger with Juneau and Dackell is a combo I like. He's big and fast enough to handle any big forward in this league in a checking role. If only he could bring some consistency, I could see him be very valuable in a 3rd line center role in a not so distant future.

As for my little "uncalled for rant of the day", I'll repeat that when Koivu returns, I would rather see Zednik and Ryder as our 2 first line RWs and Bulis and Hossa as our 2 first line LWs. Audette and Perreault have no business on the top-2 lines, even though they could still be valuable during PP.

This lineup would be a good way to play everybody while optimizing each line:

Bulis - Koivu - Zednik
Hossa - Ribeiro - Ryder
Kilger - Juneau - Dackell
Begin/Sunstrom - Perreault - Audette

I can see the possibility of having Kilger on the 3rd line but honestly, I still think he makes a better 4th liner right now. Give him a role (4th line centre) and stick to it. Others have said it and I feel the same way.

As for Bulis, I like him on any of the top 3 lines right now but I'd keep him on the 3rd for the time being. He is a great checking player and has gotten multiple breakaways playing against the other team's top line. If you put him on the top line, he will then be playing against the other team's checking line. He also makes the 3rd line somewhat plausible as a scoring threat.

I like those lines. I was trying to put some together for the first time, yesterday, in probably 3 years. My first line was Koivu centering Ryder and Zednik which I'd love to see, but I couldn't come up with a decent 2nd line since Audette was really the only RW that I thought could fit in there. My 3rd line was the same as above and my 4th was Langdon, Begin and Sundstrom. Somehow I accidentally left Perreault off.

Don't mind those lines, although I might want to see Ryder w/ Koivu.

I think you meant Zednik and not Koivu in that paragraph

Ryder Koivu Zed
Hossa Ribs Kilger
Bulis Juneau Dackell
Begin Perrault Audette

Kilger should be raring to go and might provide some much-needed jump on the top 6. And it's hard to move Bulis when the Juneau line is doing so well.

Man the lineup looks a lot better with Koivu in it. I hope he plays soon.
