Jere Lehtinen anyone ?

scored 30 goals twice, scored 20+ goals four times and is one of the best two way foward in the game today.

This guy would be a huge signing. he should be mention among the top free agents out there this years but you never hear his name.

We got so many conections to his name we cant let this pass up.

Carboneau gainey know him from theire time in dallas and we all know about his connection with koivu. Lehtinen and the habs just seem like a natural match.

imagine a

selane - koivu - lehtinen line.

There's no talk about him because he isn't a UFA.

Expensive, but worth every penny. Not that it matters, because there is no way that Dallas let's him go.

If Lehtinen is a UFA the Habs should definetly pursue and probably have a decent chance in landing him.

Lethinen would rock

I didn't knew that he was a UFA either..........I don't see him on the list on the trade board.

And yeah he would be expensive but he's so useful to a team that it's totally worth it.He's probably one (if not the) of the most versatile player in the NHL.

That's assuming of course that he don't want 6 millions.........

I'm all for Lehtinen. He's as valuable as Koivu and Selanne and the famous Finns line...

He would be a huge addition to this team.

But I didn't know either he was available. I even thought he was resigned by Dallas this year.

With Gainey, Carbo and Koivu (and maybe soon Muller and Skrudland), we are the only team in the League that can get him out of Dallas.

But I'm not sure it will be enough... Dallas was successful this year, despite the Colorado upset. They've got 5 fellow Finns and he's recognized as a key element of the team there.

But if Lehtinen comes...

Forget Selanne though. After 2 so-so to bad experiences out of Anaheim, I'm pretty sure his next trip will be to Finland...

.... would solve the "3rd" guy problem in a heartbeat (+ he does find the net quite nicely, being the "2nd" guy as well) and still having Higgins ....

Wow i was thinking the same thing before le Journal wrote about it. But i tought he was inked for next year, so i figured we could deal him here. The fact that he makes good money with Dallas (3.5 mil) made me hope for a salary dump or something that would help them for next year.

Dallas gets Ryder,Abisher 3 round pick

we get Lethinen and a second round pick

or Something like that

P.S. yes i did not enjoy Ryder's season end's play but that doesnt mean we cant deal him.

You're right I think I'll buy Finland and make their national team another franchise. I could move the whole population of Finland in Labrador and build an arena, I'm sure they'll all fit.

And they say Habs fan are the laughingstock of HFboards, I'll show em.

I think they'll be longer to hang the phone if you're asking for Modano instead of Lehtinen...

According to TSN he's on the books next year for 2.75 M with the Stars. He would make a good addition to the Habs lineup though if a trade was available (sans Ryder).
