Vandermeer sent down

Nobody replaced him on the roster. I guess they'll go with Bundy for a while before they try Wits or Seids.

i'd like to see them try Wits for a couple games, he can't be worse than Bundy, god damn screen in front of our net.

My guess is that it's just for the week. We only play one game until next Thursday. By sending Vandermeer down he can get in a few games with the Phantoms this weekend.

A young player like Vandermeer doesn't have to worry about clearing waivers.

Makes sense, since we are playing Toronto this weekend and there is no need to have toughness for that game....

Vandermeer hadn't exactly been playing very physical, or dropping the gloves at all, which is one of the reasons he made the team.

No he hasn't and i understand why he was sat, even for 3 games. But saturday is a perfect chance to put him in a spot where he can shine and is needed. Christ, Therien got pushed around by the Devils. With Brashear out, the Flyers need at least a little more muscle besides Fedoruk for a game agains the Leafs, who have beefed up even more after last year with Marchment and Perrott. I really am worried about this game now.

Vandermeer will rejoin the team on Monday, as per todays Philly papers.

Just being sent down so he could get in a few games over the weekend.

not a fan

Hey good luck to the kid. I was never a fan. The flyers have lots of depth on the blueline. You guys have noted that he was not crunching the body this year. That is the reason he was on the club. In camp Woywitka was laying the wood to people. I hope he has been playing the same way in the old Spectrum.

10 GP, 2 goals, 1 assist, and a team-leading +6 for Dennis.
