Pick a pitcher 25yo or younger to build ur team around

Alot of names obviously come to mind....Dontrelle,Harden,Carlos Zambrano,Felix Hernandez,Bonderman,Sabathia,Papelbon,BEckett,Gavi n FLoyd,Scott Kazmir,Prior,PEavy,Liriano,Duke,Brett Myers,Oliver PErez,Verlander,Zumaya

My homer pick is Papelbon but i still have a strong feeling that Prior is gonna go on a 6+ year tear ala PEdro circa 1997-2003 when he gets it together.

But all in all i would build my team around Jake Peavy

Prior is the best pitcher there, but he can't seem to stay healthy.

I second that. He hasn't even peaked yet and he's a monster for the Padres.

I would build my team around Chad Cordero. Starting pitching talent comes and goes, but a great closer is few and far between.

Oh dear lord. You did not just write this. Let's start from the start--Chad Cordero is not a great closer. He is a very good closer, but he is not a great closer. Wagner, Rivera, Lidge, Gagne... those guys are great. Cordero isn't in their tier.

Second, a great closer IS NOT more valuable than a great starter, so there is no reason to have a great closer over a great starter. Maybe back in the 70s, when guys like Mike Marshall were pitching 100+ innings in relief, you could make a case. But in this age of the 70 IP closer, the closer is the single most overrated "position" in baseball.

Having a great closer doesn't mean **** if you can't get to the ninth without the lead.

It'll probably be Felix...but as a Pirate fan I'm very happy with Duke.

Again people pick King Felix because everybody knows that young = good. Peavy, who at 24 is too old to be the prospect flavor of the week, is somehow overlooked by many.

Hernandez will be an excellent starter, but when his potential is probably to be as good as Peavy why would you not take the guy whose already there?
