Currently tied for the scoring lead with ilya, and 2g, 2a without forsberg the last 2 games!

Haters, lets here why tanguay is still crap and a leech.

They hate Tanguay because they have little or no logic on why they hate him or why he's a leech.

However, he is worth a seventh round pick in 2008.

Tell me something. Without Forsberg, who are Alex's linemates? While Forsberg is great, Hejduk and Sakic aren't bad linemates. I don't think he's a leach, nor do I think he is crap. But he's rather overrated if you take his stats and try to judge him.

Steve Moore and Milan Hejduk are Alex Tangays linemates.

I think the point is that it is a positive thing to do well when playing with good linemates. If he played bad with good teammates it would be a negative thing.

While I do think it is a positive thing to play with Forsberg and Hejduk, a player also has to have qualities to make the most of it.

And lets not get carried away. I don't think he is a franchise player in the making. I don't think he could carry a team on his back like Kovalchuk and Gaborik sometimes have to do. But he is a pretty good young player that definately has a pretty good worth. And he seems to have made progress when it comes to what must have made the Avs scared a few years ago - confidence. He looks pretty balanced mentally when on the ice these days.

Hes playing pretty well right now and his value is raised a bit that hes proving he can produce with Forsberg but its 10 or so games in. I mean how high is Marain Czerkawski's trade value right now or future Norris winner Marek Zidlicky's right now? What do Av fans think should be fair, market value for him?

Are you positive Sakic isn't? All the points Tangs has had in the past 2 games...

Alex Tanguay
Assists: Joe Sakic, Derek Morris

Milan Hejduk
Assists: Alex Tanguay

Alex Tanguay
Assist: Milan Hejduk, Joe Sakic

Karlis Skrastins
Assist: Alex Tanguay

Judging from this, it's Sakic and Hejduk. Not too shabby.

Joe Sakic was his centerman today, while Steve Moore was his center yesterday against New Jersey. Milan Hejduk will always be Alex Tanguay's right winger as an Av, however. Their center just changes.

And Sakic hasn't been all that hot during the start of this season. It is not like he is carrying Tanguay in the absence of Forsberg.

Smokey your partially correct. Sakic and Hejduk were his linemates in today's game versus the Rangers. However, Granato played Tanguay, Hejduk and I think Moore or Brigley as a line against the Devils, followed by Sakic, Selanne, and Konowalchuk for almost the enitre game.

Try to follow my logic here. If a majority of posters on HF consider Tanguay 'overrated' then is there a point where his rating gets lowered. Could it be that Tanguay has actually become underrated because so many have considered him overrated for so long?

I tried to point out that he isn't overrated b/c everyone here considered him to be a leech. Some people are changing their assessments of him as this year has progressed, but he is an easy target to pick on from the Mighty Avs 'super-talented' top two lines.

Who knows, maybe this is the year Tanguay establishes himself as a consistent threat. Of course, he could just be streaking at the beginning. If this is his breakout year, and the 2nd line starts to gel(when Kariya comes back), I think things could get pretty hairy for the rest of the NHL. I know thats a lot of ifs' but you can't blame a guy for dreaming.

Here we go again.....

....Hey Man, Tanguay is a leech, plain and true! You pour some salt on one, they shrivel up.

I'm not quite sure how that applies, but think about it.

A seventh round pick? You rate him too high.
